Peaces of me...

Nadia was disappointed that Stacy didn't look like she was comfortable with the party last night. Nadia said it was as if Stacy didn't want to be part of her friend's circle and was inconvenienced by being there. Sullivan fit right in, Nadia really likes him and she thinks he had a good time but why wouldn't Stacy even try?

Monica had a terrific day with Cory and his mom at Wonderland. She ate breakfast, lunch, and supper with them and got home around 11:30 with a huge stuffed toy that Cory won for her sinking a NBA 3 pointer. Sharon handed her back her money at the end of the evening at which time Monica realized that Sharon paid for everything.

Today we spent our time with April's Select team for a fun game with the select novice. They played for a couple of hours and ended in a tie. I had a long talk with Colleen, her and James just split up this weekend but that is no surprise. I just feel for Holly, but as Colleen pointed out that Holly has been a go between for them for many years so it might be a relief for Holly.

Then we went back to the Alexio's for a party. It is so much better with the two teams together and the parents all know each other very well.

Rob Alexio wasn't there, wasn't invited because Catherine doesn't want his new girlfriend involved in the baseball but Rob insists on bringing her so this way assures that the girlfriend will not be there. Rob lost his job as a vice president of his bank. Our neighbour is just going through the same thing right now, is so upset about his job outlook that he has taken up smoking.

I don't know how a conversation takes a turn into something that you had no desire to talk about especially when it is private or controversial. I had a talk with Brit's dad about my son's friends and the journey they took because his friend announced he was gay. While I dwell on how it affected the straight guys Rob couldn't get over how someone that young could be brave enough to expose his choice. Everyone always has a different viewpoint and it always surprises me at what each person thinks as important.

Open mouth, insert shoe
Lana mentioned "the shoes" in front of everyone, I told her to shut up and James said something to her so I won't be confiding in her again. For years Lana and I would hint at some sexually cute circumstance that would make us raise our eyebrows or sneak a smile. She used to compare her love life to James's brother with Harlequin Romance novel and while she didn't go into details it made me feel good for Steven that he had a woman that was completely happy. When she became frustrated about how normal life was and how to get back some of the spontaneity, we would make silly suggestions to each other. One time she asked me how do you get the fun back into your sex life and I lifted up my leather skirt to expose my garters and she almost spit her drink across the room. She didn't expect that kind of wardrobe from a housewife. Those are the times I was remembering when I told her about the shoes. Those days are over because I feel that she went out of her way to tell everyone my shoe story.

April had a good time. April was hanging with her teammates at first leading the girls into singing oldies. Step got upset with her for some reason so April removed herself and was actually hanging out alot with the other team. That's is all right because much of that younger team used to be Monica's teammates so April knows them quite well.

I went home to get warmer clothes on, I didn't want to disturb my family having fun but then I heard some gossip and it disturbed me.

I heard tonight that Brandon Alexio might be suing Brent and Adam for taking money out of the company and they might go bankrupt. Stacy will never talk about anything about her brother so in a way I am glad that she isn't involved in the talk that is going around about Brent. But I am really upset about this. Last I heard they were not taking any money out of the company and the money decisions were all decided between them. What is going on?

Brent said that he would work on our computers today but was a no show.

Nadia had the girls over tonight, they were going to go out on the town but they were too mellow so they just hung around our house. Kelly is contemplating a motorcycle ride to Niagara Falls tonight.

I can't sleep right now- too much on my mind.

I am worrying about April dropping down from Academic to Applied. She will be in with a whole different group of kids and I just hope she acts herself and not try to impress anyone or try to get in with a fast crowd. Carrie says that there is a huge difference in the way the Applied kids behave in school. April is smart but a little lazy in school. If it doesn't come easy to her she is not interested and won't study for tests at all. I hope she throws herself into the vocals and the drama.

I feel good about Stacy and Sullivan and school for them being in two different colleges. They will have to make time for themselves instead of being together all the time so it won't be convenience bringing them together, it will be them trying. I think the change will be healthy for their relationship. I really want it to work.

I am glad Brent is not going to school this year, it will give him time to understand what he wants and hopefully a year in the workforce (when he finds a job), will help influence that decision. It was for me when I took a year off.

It will be Monica's last year in Elementary School, and hopefully won't be spoiled by The Creature. Even though I wish like crazy that she wouldn't be Monica’s teacher, Monica has to make the best of it and if that means kissing ass, and there is a lot of ass to kiss. So I hope Monica is very diplomatic as she has been all through school and not let The Creature get to her.

Finally at 5:15am I was able to fall asleep.

Cory was over for quite a while today. Monica made Cory kiss her foot and he did it right in front of me! I asked where she learned that kind of behaviour and she said, "Stacy". She dressed him up in our play clothes in women's clothes from our tickle trunk. Later they went to play basketball. There is writing on the school wall again, this time scratched into the door near the basketball courts. It has 'Cory hates Monica E' and 'CM & BP'. Good ol' Brandy. Monica spent the evening shopping with Cory and his mom for school.

Derrick had a party for Nadia tonight. He was supposed to have the house to himself but his mom decided to stay home from the trailer so he might not be able to have the kids sleep over. Seems every time Derrick makes plans she gets him worried about changing them.

I picked Brent up from TJ's and he spent most of the day at home. We got a new computer case with power because my on/off switch hasn't worked properly for years. I asked Brent about his Centennial College marks and he said he got high 90's overall and in one course he got 100%. On the exam he received 106%, the highest mark ever for Telephony.

The guy from No Frills has been phoning for Brent today, giving his story to everyone- he still is not getting his order. Brent says he is threatening him. Brent phoned his house and talked to his mother, told her of the problems they have been having with the order and that her son had the option a long time ago of having his money returned or waiting it out. He also told her how her son has been leaving threatening calls. Brent has to get a hold of Brandon Alexio to get the money from their company.

April was with Jeff and Billy today, and I guess they were together when we went out to lunch with Dave and Marita. Marita came back with me to look at the yearbook. It is of such poor quality that I couldn't bring myself to buy it! Me, who loves things like that, but peoples heads are partially cut off and it is all photo copied in black and white. Monica really wants to take control and Nadia and her have spent hours working on a presentation for the school.

I was surprised to learn that Sullivan switched from Centennial College to Durham. H e says that the course he is now in was his first choice and they offered it to him at the last minute. It will be hard and expensive to get there from Scarborough but even Brent was questioning where he was going to live, people were already speculating to him. I told Brent that he already knew the answer to his question. We are not going to go through what we did with Crystal. We are a big family and we just can't have anyone else live with us. It is crazy enough on the weekends but school days are chaos here and one extra person would add to it. I just really hope Sullivan relocated for educational reasons and not because Stacy is going there.

ICQ IM
Hi mom

Its Stacy, just wanted to let you know I'm at Durham College while Sullivan does all his paperwork!

--------------------------

Stacy is still mad at Amy she wouldn't accept her phone call and her plans with friends at Paul's, fell through again. They went to Nadia's party so I was glad to hear that. Then she drove Sullivan home. This not doing anything together is not healthy. I hate it when plans are broken. I think they are suffering from lack of funds and lack of friends is a bad combination.

James is sound asleep as usual, but I was up late with Brent last night so I am overtired- too tired to sleep.

Stacus Interuptus
My daughter Stacus Interuptus struck again, 2 times. We all know what is going on when our door is locked, but this morning TWO times she banged on the door asking what we were doing, wanting to come in. Well it worked the mood was gone, guilty parent syndrome kicked in. When I came downstairs she starting singing, "No more monkey's jumping on the bed."

April phoned early to ask if she could go to Washago with Chelsea and her family. I asked if she wanted to go and she indicated that she didn't so I told her that she was not allowed to go! then she whinned on the phone about it to make me the bad guy. That system has always worked for my kids, they ask and I ask if they are sure and then they really tell me how they feel without letting the person that they are with know what we mean!

Monica wants to organize a yearbook for next year and Nadia is helping her with ideas. She is going to make her pitch to the Principal tomorrow. I scurried together collages from my computer for examples.

April went to a practice today, but I wasn't too keen on her participating because of her scar. I don't want it to rip open with activity.

I am getting upset with Stacy's friends. Amy said that they had definite plans after she worked so when she didn't phone Stacy found out that Amy was out shopping with her sister. Stacy was so upset with her that she wouldn't let anyone answer the phone at 9:30 when Amy finally phoned. I am getting ticked off with both Sullivan and Stacy's friends. In their own way they are not letting them discover as a couple what they really need because they get thrown together when their friends disappoint them. I want them to be with each other because they want and need each other, not because everyone else is standing them up and it is just convenient to be together.

After 10 Stacy took April out to Timmy's and they brought me home cookies! It is nice to have enough sisters that you can alway count on one to hang out with when you need them.

Brent was in and out tonight, he looked at my computer and I need a new network cord. He said he would install it on the weekend.

We asked our Pitching Coach to take all 4 of our girls in one session for $1500 and she agreed.

Dan just came by to borrow Monica's camera to transfer his files? He told me that he would have it back by tomorrow morning so I hope he keeps his word.

Monica spent the day at Cory's. He dyed his hair blonde. After they drove her home about 11:15.

Stacy got accepted into Durham!!! But as usual they have messed up into what course she is actually taking. She had to go there twice to have it straightened out. We saw Jessie and Hannah there buying books. Paul might be in her class so hopefully she can get rides with him. Jake was working there, has finished with McDonald's after 4 years. To celebrate his departure for McDees he is sporting a beard, something they would never allow, and it looks very good. He is taking University Courses for Law. Tom starting talking to Stacy and then just stopped almost mid sentence, and would look like he was trying to say something but he didn't or couldn't. He let the silence hang in the air and it was so uncomfortable that it was time to leave.

I was visiting Marita and Josh told me that he stumbled across a big guy all dressed in black at the side of our house and the guy darted away. He went out of his way to try to cover up the fact that he was also hiding at the side of our house too. He said he was trying to spook some of the kids at our house. This information creeped me out, all those nights sitting in my family room with the blinds half open, having the spooked out feeling that someone was watching now looks like it might have been true. This is bothering me- add up the guy in Stacy's second story window, they big guy Brent chased and the tall guy in dark clothes Josh scared away and I went to the police. We are to phone the next time even something little happens.

Coach Paul phoned James and asked him to help coach the team next year. Devon's dad Scott told Paul that Devon was going wherever Monica was going. When James asked what they should do about coaching Monica said, "You dad and Kelly B's dad and maybe her mom too." That is exactly what Paul suggested.

Took Monica to the park where she met up with neighbourhood kids and April and Caesar. Monica came home disgusted when one of them started smoking. April stayed.

Stacy had Paul and Melissa over, they are excited that he is taking the same course and he will be able to drive her there but she will have to find other arrangements sometimes for the way home. She left at 11 to go to Timmy's.

Nadia is at Derrick's, they took Caesar out to the Doggy Store earlier today and then to Derrick's but he was barking too much so they took him home. Derrick wants the rower so I am glad he took it, I told him I want $20.00 for it but I will tell him later to forget it.

April phoned from Andrew's and asked if she could stay over at Chelsea's because she didn't have a ride home so I agreed. I know that it is consistent to let her be with the girl that I disapprove of but I want it would be April's decision too, I want her to realize that the girl doesn't treat her with respect. Besides I am too tired to put up a fight.

James and I got out of bed early because it is not very comfortable in that cottage bed. We spent the early morning outside on the dock with Caesar. The lake water is so clear in the morning and Caesar was enjoying the motion of the fish. When he began to bark we told him "No" and he immediately sat down and stopped barking. Maybe it is working.

I can't pretend that I am not upset with Sullivan. Why did he put himself back in the position to have people talk about him again? I told him when he first started to go out with her that he could possibly lose all his friends over her... that has happened so why can't he let go and accept his decision? Trying to hang out with Steve is pure stupidity and Sullivan is very smart normally. I just think he is trying to manipulate people into getting what he wants.

Back home again. On the way I asked one question to Sullivan about the time he spent with Steve; I asked if they had been with anyone or were they alone? He said that they were all alone, that him and Steve did more work than all the other guys who had painted it before in a shorter period of time. So that means that Steve is feeding everyone crap and is talking about all of them behind their backs. He is sitting on the fence, telling Sullivan that the others didn't do a good job and took so long while he other guys he is saying that Sullivan didn't do the work that he just sat there.

I asked him because after Brent had told me what Steve said to him I watched Sullivan closely and noticed that he always jumps at the chance to help out people, so I found it hard to believe. Then I realized that if it was just Sullivan and Steve, then Steve could say anything he wanted about Sullivan because no one else was there. Sullivan thinks that Steve is his friend but Steve is and has always been backstabbing everyone when he gets the chance. Even earlier in the month Steve went with Sullivan to his Monday hockey at his friend Anthony's job. He made a big stink, started a ruckus and was kicked out. This shows that Steve is communicating and accepting Sullivan's friendship but to everyone else he is backstabbing him. He is being two sided, two faced. He even talked about Brent when they worked together, one of Steve's supposedly best friends.

Brent had people over last night and that upset me but even worse when I reminded him that I told him not to he said that I didn't. I did for sure. Last time we were away and I didn't really want him to know we were away (because he had not been home in so long) he was offended that I wouldn't trust him not to have people over when we were away, and then he turns around and does it the this time? He took Nadia's booze and she is so upset because he never replaced it from last time.

Brent said that he came home and chased someone who was peering into our car. He chased him until he realized just how big he was.

Stacy was supposed to go out tonight with Jodi and Amy but they kept her hanging while they went out. They told her about their plans for tomorrow excluding her. This is extreme for them to do as Stacy really hasn't been seeing too much of them lately. It was great at the beginning of the summer when Amy was with them so much. They were like the 3 Musketeers but now it seems that they have isolated her from the girlfriends and I don't think that is good at all. So Stacy asked April if she wanted to go to the movies and away they went.

I am glad we went up because it is Monica's first time here this summer. It was overcast for a lot of the day but warmed up the more the day progressed. April is so stuffed up, the medicine doesn't seem to be working and Stacy needs it too but she is not as bad.

We are trying to prevent Caesar from barking at the swimmers and we having been isolating him in the back or in the cottage. It is hard but that is how Gord learned. By the end of the day Caesar was looking hard done by.

James likes his phone melted! He actually put his phone in the lamp to get a good signal and when the light was turned on he finally realized what the smell was. He can get a signal but the speaker doesn't work.

Mark heard Sullivan say to Caesar not to hump Stacy "or you get your balls cut off".

Mark said, "And let that be a lesson to you Sullivan!"

Aug 24/03

I went into Stacy's room this morning and tried to talk to her about how things must change in the fall with the quality of time she spends with Sullivan. Right now they are together with nothing to do and I can see that it has bothered her and she has mentioned from time to time that she is bored just being here with him doing nothing. So plan child, plan! I wonder if she tells him she is bored? There has to be something that they can do that doesn't cost money. I almost thought that he had her interested in cards when they first met but that didn't materialize, maybe she could learn to enjoy that now. Anything, just try to do something different please.

They will both be going to school and even if he doesn't, Stacy needs to go back to her routine to include her working and studying too. It can't be how it is now. They have to schedule and make arrangements about when they will see each other and they have to start making a point of socializing with people as a couple. They don't make plans right now. It is hard to plan when Sulivan has no income. Stacy won't acknowledge to anyone that she has any plans to make, I don't know if she is trying to make plans that don't include him, maybe he is making it too hard for her to find time with her friends. All I know is that it would be so much more exciting for them if they actually went through the process of planning anticipating and following through with a plan.

Brents friends are colleges and Universities bound so they will not be hanging out with them. I don't quite know if she heard everything I said, I got no input from her.

Our headsets and controller are missing from James's car.

Brent came home and said something to Sullivan about Sullivan stealing a car twice. Sullivan never acknowledged the remark. Later Brent said that Sullivan invited himself over to Steve's and Steve fell asleep and when he woke up Sullivan had just come back from the store with fast food and the car. Then he did it again? Steve said that Sullivan was there to help with his move but didn't do anything to help. The car he took was Dan's so Sullivan has put himself back in the line of fire. They are all mad at him, really mad. I am very upset about it.

We decided to go up north to the cottage again, we just had to wait until James agreed. Stacy took me aside and said that she didn't know if she should have Sullivan come because they had been fighting lately and it has been really bothering her. She needs some alone time but he doesn't want to go home at nights. When she insists that he go, he really gets upset and won't talk to her or say goodbye properly on the way home. I told her that she had to talk about everything that bothers her and if he can't understand, she has to explain exactly how she feels until he does. If she needs to have time, he should understand why he has to go home.

She has to start telling him how she feels, it is not fair to just pretend everything is all right when it is not. This wouldn't be happening if he had a job... it is putting undue pressure on their relationship. They need to start socializing with other couples and I can't see that happening any time soon with the friends they have. They are too isolated for the relationship to be healthy.

Stacy and Sullivan both need to be around other girls and guys independently and as a couple, instead of always being together because they don't have anything else to do. I really like Sullivan and I want to see that everything works out for them, that they have all the chances they can for a strong relationship. She decided that she wanted him to come after they talked so everything worked out for now.

One thing that really stuck with me was her saying that it bothered her that the dog likes him so much. It sounds like an innocent kid remark but it struck me as if she has knocked the wind out of me. What kind of reason is that? Why would she event think that? Most of my kids want our dog to like their girlfriend or boyfriend and it sounds like Stacy is actually jealous. I wanted to tell her that people have the ability to love people in many different ways, just as some dogs can and Caesar is capable of loving a lot of people. Besides, Caesar could be happy with Sullivan just because it means that Stacy will be with the dog more. I am trying to figure out what she meant by that remark. I think she is struggling to keep her 'self' in this relationship, he might be smothering her...loving her so that she is getting lost in all of this. The dog is the last straw. If he can get the attention away from her to the dog, then he has that love too. Sounds weird but...something is wrong. Maybe I am just blowing that remark out of proportion.

It bothered me all the way up north, a real uneasy feeling that she was grasping at straws to try to make a point but couldn't come up with anything. I have a gut feeling that he is trying to force his will on her. She mentioned that he always wants to make out but I don't think it is the sexually aggression that scares and confuses her but the mental domination he is trying for. Her friends are coming over less and less, apparently he insulted Amy and she doesn't want to be near him anymore. He called her a fifth wheel and although that remark might not seem like a big deal to me I think it happened on the day that she was supposed to be out with the girls when he popped up so it was just bad timing. Also, I don't think his presence that day was appreciated when he came into town to be with his old buddies, the buddies that don't want anything to do with him because he dared to go out with Stacy. I think he wants her all to himself and she is reacting but doesn't know how to tell anyone she is being smothered. I hope she isn’t starting the withdrawing from everyone again.

I am upset about the car business. That Sullivan did it is one thing, I know guys do crazy impulsive things, but to put himself where everyone would have reason to be mad at him, will ruin the fragile friendships Sullivan has with his friends- again. We haven't even addressed how Stacy feels about this because she was not aware of him taking Dan's car at all and he should have told her. This is not good.

When we left home I was uncomfortable leaving Brent in the backyard with Josh and Colin. They were looking intensely at the ground and the only thing we have a lot of on the back yard lawn is doggy dodo. They denied that they were going to do anything with the poo but then Brent came in looking for eggs. He wanted to make a stink bomb?? I did say earlier that I didn't want him to have friends over when we were away, standard parent talk, but especially because our house is a mess from all the summer busyness with baseball and never enough time to really clean.

It was nice to have Carrie, Mark and kids up north with us. Grammie doesn't adjust well when more than one family is there and this time she tried to take it out on Monica but Carrie told Grammie to settle down. Monica has figured out that the nicer you are to Grammie the more she tries to boss you around. Unfortunately it is a lesson we all learn.

April is suffering with major allergies, but it seems that it is only when we are at the cottage.

With the exception of Nadia all the kids slept outside in trailer. I guess Nadia isn't a kid now is she?

The Ring
Nadia's 21 birthday, she is now legal enverywhere! Derrick blindfolded her and led her to the lakefront for a picnic and then surprised her with a ring. We weren't sure if it was THE ring but when Nadia phoned us and told us about it she didn't say it was the special ring. They have all the time in the world for that. Sullivan gave Nadia a gift too which really surprised her.

Brent came home today but we weren't there! He phoned a couple of times for various reasons. I think he is at Josh's right now.

Monica's softball playoffs today but we were knocked out in two games. It is cool today and I usually always were pants but today I decided to freeze and burn in a skirt. The lights were not working so they had a one-hour delay. Monica got caught in the line of fire somehow and was hit by a kid wildly throwing a rock. She was so nauseated on the way home that we had to pull over so she could wretch. It is interesting that when we weren't there to help Monica out with her booboo she went to her old coach Joe for consoling. After all the years of coaching her they still have a close relationship. I told her that I was going to wake her up to ask her questions so that I would know she is alright and when I woke her I found her with underwear on her head and a bra over her PJ’s!

I was thinking a lot about what Monica told us about Jake. I have known Sharon for about a year now and I have talked to her about relationships before. She wants so much for her sons to have relationships with girls (see July 2002) that she is allowing Jake to have his girlfriend overnight. He still has hard living friends and that is her way of keeping the girl closer than Jake's friends. It is not right but I can understand how she thinks knowing how she felt when Erin and Jake broke up last year. I don't want the same thing to happen with Monica though. Cory is a good kid with good friends and is a leader not a follower. He won't be talked into hanging around with the wrong crowd, he is the one everyone guys and girls look up to. I don't anticipate that happening with Cory and Monica. Please.

April had a rough and painful sleep with me. Stacy came in terrified but I already had April in bed with me so Stacy slept in her old bedroom for comfort. She thought she saw a man in the window of her bedroom. She has never ever come to me with a nightmare before so I am worried that there really was someone in her window on the top of the garage. April told her that she could sleep with us because she likes broccoli??? (No she doesn't).

Grammas house is all packed up but the memories still linger. Sadly the day of sale is here but we have to be happy and cherish the good times we had. We reminisced in every empty room as we talked our way through her house one last time. My ears listened for the noisy sounds of the happy times we all had. I turned to leave, looked back on Grammas house but my eyes kept coming back to the old discarded plants on the porch These nearly dead plants were gifts over the years lovingly cared for. When Gramma left, they were put outside so that Mother Nature could look after them. Now they are just pathetic remnants of the neglected plants. My urge to rescue them took over and as I picked them up, every one of the rotting baskets collapsed in my hands. I still brought them home.

Tears chocked me when Stacy yelled the old familiar "Byeyieyieyieyie", like they did every time Grandma and Grandpa waved goodbye to us. You could almost see them standing there waiving but then the memory faded. It is just a house now, not their home.

Today was a vegging out day for Stacy. Sometimes it is good to just do nothing. She picked out a huge plant pot with me and then went to the mall with Monica.

April wrote an email to her friends with a picture of her wound.

WELL...

I was at my cottage with my two friends and my mom and sis and her b/f came down the last day. My uncle had just bought a brand new huge tube thingy that seats 3 ppl and I wanted my friends to have a good time in it because we had waited all week to ride in it. I sat on the right side and my two other friends sat in the middle and left. Well the boat started going and made a right turn. Instead of whipping around the boat as skier and boarders do, the tube stopped while the boat made another turn. I noticed that the rope gathered up around the tube and then started to go under the tube. I knew this couldn't be good and then all of a sudden the rope tightened, went above the tube and whipped to my head. My eyes went black and I passed out and when I woke up I was in the water trying to figure out where the surface of the water was. All I knew was that I had to keep swimming.

My friends were already on the surface and laughing because it was so much fun but I was hurting so much I could hardly move my arm. They were yelling bend your arm but I couldn't. I swam with one arm to the boat and had to be lifted into the boat. The lifejacket was covering me so all they could see was the cuts on my hand. They asked me what hurt the most and I moved my jacket and they couldn't believe what they saw. They were saying that they were going to be sick but I couldn't see it.

My mom didn't want to take me to the cottage hospital so she drove all the way home. The doctor said that the position of my arm saved my life as my neck would have been broken. I have a bump on my head, my neck is like it was whip lashed and he said I have a concussion, which I believe because my head is killing me. The doctor has to dress it everyday. IT HURTS! OUCHH!

----------------------------------

Monica was camper of the week, they gave her a Nike side pack. She put so much effort into playing up to the big boys that she is sore all over. She spray painted her hair red to represent China.

James got home from his Ottawa trip. They won the tournament but it was announced that a sponsor won it.

Another shocker...

I should get used to this but I never do. You have standards that you expect from all families but obviously all families don't share my idea of what should be. It is not like my kids haven't tried to make me more liberal in my thinking and I am not naive about what can happen and what does happen when they're alone, but jeeze, give them a chance to grow up.

Monica mentioned that Jake's girlfriend spends a lot of nights staying over at Jake's house. Stupid me asked where she sleeps and Monica said, "In Jake's room."

"OK, so where does Jake sleep then?"

"In Jake's room."

Oh my god he is 15 years old!!! Why are they letting this happen? Monica says it is because she is not getting along with her parents... so what, they should be looking out for her. Now how can I feel safe when Monica is there so much? I am going to have to rely entirely on Monica's morals and not anyone else's but she is going to have so much more pressure on her in the sex department. I am very disappointed in Cory's parents for allowing this.

We took April to her playoff game. She sat there for a while but her head a aching and she didn't look too good so home she came. She has to shower twice a day and have some burn cream on. We are all bending over backwards waiting on he every need. She says that she likes having everyone 'pleasure' her.

Stacy went out with the girls again. Lana told me that they were locked out of their house yesterday as car went by and a girl yelled "Edwards’s Rule!" I knew it was Stacy!

Aug 21/03

I woke up April in the night to see if she was disorientated and asked her name. First she asked "Nadia?", then "Nichole?" Finally I said, "April what is your name?" She looked at me funny and in a questioning voice said "April?"

April is now realizing the seriousness of what could have been and she is very weepy. She keeps hearing the twang of the rope as it snapped tight and she can't understand why she can't remember parts of it but it is because he lost consciousness. She is hearing bits and pieces of people who know nothing of what they are talking about criticize different people so they can spread the blame. She is fiercely defending Sullivan and doesn't even want to tell Stacy that people are saying that she obviously wasn't spotting properly. The fact is it was an accident, pure and simple, and yes in hindsight all of us would have done something completely different.

Mark told us today as he was examining her injury that he had a sleepless night last night thinking of what could have been. Well that makes a whole whack of people because I think we all had very rough nights. Sullivan didn't get up until the afternoon, poor guy.

I spent the evening alone first time in a long time. Derrick and Nadia took April out for desert and ended up having a meal too. Then they came home and chilled in their room.

Stacy went out with her girl homies, looked cute in her sundress, it is so hot out that it is quite suitable. She cruised for a bit, bumped into Sid Y who says he didn't remember them from public school. He only used to chase Stacy home and spent 9 years in class with them. She watched a movie after.

Monica is at Cory's; I took her swimsuit over for her.

Neighbourhood kids brought April some muffins to show that they are happy she is all right. The kids made them for her all by themsleves.

Aug 20/03

I tried to get some rest with Stacy in mom's bed but it was one of the worst night's sleep EVER! The dog was either nervous or protecting us but he stood over us and panted and whined and cried most of the night. Then Chelsea would cry out in night terrors, she couldn't handle bunk beds.

The rest of us didn't have our nightmare until the afternoon. Unfortunately we had an accident that I can't stop thinking about...how bad it could have been. This summer Mark bought a 3-seater tube for behind the boat. I had no idea how dangerous they could be but written right on it is that it could cause injury or death. Even a simple wave can send your head crashing together because you can't control those kind of things when it is a multiple seater.

Sullivan, Sea Cadet that he is, had our full trust that he was sea worthy. But there is still a mixture of testosterone and kid in him, he had to try an make life difficult for the tubers. He did a half circle and then whipped the other way to try to shake them up a little. The tube doesn't move as he anticipated as it is heavier and then the rope went slack and right before our eyes we sat helpless as April flipped out of the tube and then was lost from view underwater. We did not understand just how bad she was hurt until the came to shore. The rope that been trapped under April right arm where she is covered by rope burns. She looked like she had been filleted. We believe that April went unconscious, she has a bump on her head and she said that she felt her eyes go black. Then April became aware that it was important to find the top of the water.

I keep thinking of how much worse it could have been. As usual April is being a real trouper about it, she always has had a high threshold for pain. We all know how much being skinned hurts in a little area and she has a dilly of a huge one. Sullivan feels so bad about it, April went to look for him after and he said that he hated being in control of things when it goes wrong and he feels responsible.

April won't be able to play baseball this weekend for her playoffs. I have to watch April to make sure she doesn't have a concussion.

Monica wanted Chinese food so she could use the fortune cookies for her sports camp (she represents China).

We went to get ice cream but when Stacy went to pay with my $20.00 we were told it was counterfeit which I don't believe because we got it directly from the bank. We took it to A%P, it was fine.

Monica approached me about birth control. She said that she wasn't thinking about having sex but she wanted to make sure she would be all right if they ever did. She said that they are nowhere near ready. I am so happy taht she realizes that at 13 she can't possibly be ready adn I do appreciate that she has many questions about sex. I told her that if she was not comfortable with Cory in talking about what they have been doing then they weren't ready and perhaps they should start talking about their feelings and what they both want. We talked about being close to someone without actually having sex, innocent touching such as back rubs and message or tracing names on your back an how you should progress into a sexual relationship.

She said there are a lot of things people talk about in regards to sex that she knows nothing about. I told her to ask me if she doesn't know instead of the people who are talking about it. We talked about people calling things different names for example, safes and rubbers and I asked what she called them and she said condoms. I told her that she was so young and that I want to talk to her in great lengths before a decision is made. She has a lot to learn about her own body and Cory's and there is so much that they could do before they think of that, so I believe that she has time to talk to me about it.

She asked me how old I was and I didn't want to tell her but I am not going to lie to a direct question from an innocent girl so I told her that the decision had been taken away from me, that I was raped at 15. Se hugged me and told me how sorry she was. I told her how important it was to always be in a position where she can take care of herself. The decision of sex should be a totally planned thing when she and her boyfriend are more mature.

Nadia went into the NHL today. She never told me that they told her last week that they couldn't hire her right now but their collective bargaining agreement would be finished by 2004 so they will look at it then. They have only replaced one of the 4 positions that have become available this summer.

James went to Ottawa on a golfing tournament. I think he will be golfing for 2 days. I have made driving arrangements with another mother so I can be many places at once!

Unreal but not unbelievable... mom has no food at the cottage. Nadia came home from the cottage frustrated with Grammie- they came with no food, water or juice and Grammie wanted to use Nadia's. Well sorry, 3 college kids bought that food and if they aren't using it then you can bet they will use it another day. Nadia was pretty tense. Nadia also slept with Derrick in front (in the presence) of Grammie... wow what nerve! I never ever got that nerve up even when I was 24!

Cousin Andrea was up there with Dave for a while. On the way home Nadia stopped at the stable where Kelly trains a horse. Derrick was nervous to be near horses was spooked by the huge horse!

I painted the closet doors in the basement but it must have looked like a comedy routine. I lost control of the roller and ended up with it squeezed in my hands right after I had slathered paint on it. I got it on the floor while I tripped and broke the fan with the roller in my hands. The newspaper flipped up and stuck in the paint at the bottom of the door. I can’t get the newspaper off, it is like it has been wallpapered on!

I finally get my wheels back and what do I do? I go on the spur of the moment to the cottage with Stacy and Sullivan. We got up about 7pm. It was fun, they went swimming right away and Caesar spazzed when they were in the water.

It is times like this that I can see that Stacy and Sullivan look like a team, each contributing to the enjoyment of the evening showing all, that this is what being a couple is all about. We played a lot of mind twisting games, Stacy and Sullivan know a lot of them and Chelsea had one that we had to be told the answer to! Tara and Chelsea were actually pleasant to the adults.

I wasn't feeling all that well and after some medication I feel asleep. Unbelievably I brought up James's Pj's instead of my own...I could wrap them around me 2x!

Aug 18/03

here is the picture thingy. Me and Monica made them the day you went to Napanee or however you spelt it! well bye bye! OFF TO THE COTTAGE! YAAAWOOOO!!!! bye love April.

Monica started volleyball camp today, there seems to be very tall rep player boys there so already the calibre of player looks better than last year.

I bumped into Nadia's mentor at Durham College and he volunteered to assist Stacy into Durham College. He met her at the Fundraiser dance in the spring. He is recommending her to go to Business Administration and he is inviting her to audit his Introduction to Sports Administration and said that he will get her the credit!

Since Derrick has my car and James is in Burlington golfing with his car, Craig drove me to Durham to pick up Monica.

Only one kids bedroom is being used tonight, the others are empty!

Monica phoned from Cory's to ask if she could stay late. Cory had thrown her in the pool, she managed to take him with her so they washed and dried her clothes. Sharon said that she would drive her home at 12.

Phoned Brent at 9:30, he said I woke him up and that he would talk to me later.

Sue graced my doorstep this afternoon...ahhh, the neighbourhood gossiper! I had to fight the urge to slam the door in her face; instead I stepped out on the front walkway, shut the door right behind me. It was rude, I know, but I made the decision years ago not to welcome her into my home but I was curious as to why she would come here. It is a strange feeling to feel her eyes examining every inch of me, I returned her glare and it did give me some satisfaction to realize that time has been kinder to me. She didn't even have to vocalize what she was thinking when turned her thoughts on my house, it was obvious, but she felt it necessary to inform me that my window trim on the garage window needed painting. She had to look hard, most everything paintable in my front has been covered with vinyl or aluminium but somehow she looked past the flower box on my windowsill and examined the trim. I didn't even acknowledge her complaint, just let it be.

I would not give her any ammunition against my neighbours, to my knowledge I never have. She pumped me for information but I acted like I didn't know anything about anyone. I told her that I have always felt that we have been lucky as a neighbourhood, that everyone gets along quite nicely, you know, things she didn't want to hear. She questioned me about Phil and the cops a couple times but I won't share gossip with her. She did however tell me that she phoned the cops on her old next-door neighbours because they fought a lot. She didn't mention that she also reports on her current neighbours too! Her mouth dropped when Stacy walked passed us "oh my god, she is beautiful", she exclaimed. I felt protective over my daughter but then it has been years since her daughter, Heather and Stacy have hung around so I guess she hasn't really seen the grown up Stacy!

Went to Holly and Brit's select tournament with April, Monica and their friends. They won all the games including 2 against Brampton, which was a huge upset. The umps were telling me how impressed they were with Nadia's stamina yesterday, and that she was as strong at the end as she was at the start. Carol Alexio was telling me that Catherine and Brit were trying to match Carol and Rob, Brit's dad together. Carol laughed at the thought of going with someone with her ex's name, just like Rob Alexio is but said that Rob is definitely not her type. The coaches of the team went out of their way to critic Holly for us, I guess because James used to be her coach. Apparently she still has the same weakness in the in-field that she had in previous years

We had lunch at Don Cherry's; their prices have all increased so I really can't see us there anymore.

I got in touch with a woman who will use the rest of the items in Gramma's garage for a yard sale for Breast Cancer and hopefully will buy the freezer too!

Nadia met my brothers buddy from the old days at the cottage, three times in one night. He was so drunk that he kept introducing himself. Not much has changed about Dave's best buddy since he boarded with me!

Stacy dropped a paint can on her little footie after painting her bedroom door. She has been with me a lot this weekend.

Stacy and Nadine pitched, nothing wrong with the pitching again, but the defence can't work when there are girls saying "come on lets get this over with, I have other things to do." I mentioned to them that some girls never get the opportunity to get to the Provincials and most of them admitted that this was there first time ever.

We came home to the end of the garage sale. Dianne and Craigg were just finishing up. In all we got about $500.00! We got home but Nadia had already left so I have spent the rest of the day getting this diary up to date. April, Monica and Brit helped out so Dianne gave them $20.00 to go grab a burger.

It was good to know that Brent phoned the girls when we were out of town. He was concerned that they were going to be alone in the night and he was going to come home until he knew for sure Grammie was going to be there overnight. He also phoned us a couple of times too.

This is chick flick week with Stacy but she does miss her Sullivan boobooboobooboo (whatever). He is in Sarnia. It is probably a good thing that Stacy didn't want him near Donut Girl, as he got to spend time with his extended family.

We were just finishing a movie when Nadia came in!????

We couldn't believe our eyes because we had presumed that Nadia was at the cottage with her friends after she lost the next playoff game. From how they played the team the other night when I ws able to watch, it didn't seem possible that they stood a chance. We had no idea that she was still at the playoffs and winning all her games. She pitched four games, 26 innings and lost in an international tiebreaker. The teams and the spectators all clapped for her when she was handed her trophy because they knew the huge effort she had put into the pitching. Nadia was so dirty but so happy, I really wish James and I could have seen her play. I was so frustrated when I realized she had been playing all day without us and we were sitting here at home that I couldn't help but feel cheated. I would have LOVED to have seen Nadia's play and doing what she loves best... pitch. She had a shower and then was off to the cottage!

One evening hanging out with Chelsea, Tara and Laura and here we go again. Thank god April took me into her confidence again which I appreciate, she needs me, but she actually believes what they are saying. They say that Erin's boyfriend told them that he really doesn't care for Erin and that Chelsea is who he really wanted at first . Chelsea is dreaming and scheming again. No guy will stay for a girl that long and buy expensive gifts if they don't care. One of the stories she couldn't sit still for and take is that Chelsea doesn't flirt with other people boyfriends. April couldn't even keep a straight face for that one as Chelsea kept denying it. A lot of damage can be done here as they all spread their poison so I hope April is strong enough not to believe it.

Somehow while I was gone, Grammie spent time with my younger kids they managed to skeam theri way up to the cottage with Chelsea, Laura and Brit, two girls that I always have tried to keep April away from so while Grammie planned behind my back April is going to be with the girls I tried to keep her safe from. At least Brit is a nice girl. My Monica wants no part of going up which I am pleased about. Unfortunately Grammie was hard on Monica at the garage sale and Monica now says she feels sorry for me if that I the way she treated me when I was growing up. She bossed and yelled at Monica when Monica was being helpful for no reason and it has really upset Monica.

Power came on at 5am. Apparently we are joined to the emergency services so our power will not go out anymore, the rest of Southern Ontario will have intermittent outages if they have power at all. We are lucky to get our power on ahead of everyone, as many people lost the food in their fridge and freezer. It is hard to know what to do with yourself when you have depended on electricity all your life.

Kelly and her first date. She was going to cancel the date because of the power failure but he didn't want to so they went swimming at her house and then late at night they drove throughout the night on his motorcycle in the complete darkness. They night was there's as if they were the only people alive. That will probably be a once in a lifetime ride for the both of them so I thought it was pretty neat date. She got home at 5am!

Monica talked back to me today and showed little respect, told me to shut up so she's grounded for a couple of days. She apologized later but I have to stick to it, she needs to know she can't be that way to her mom.

April had Brit, Joey, and Scott and Ryan. April kept teasing Scott about looking me over, poor guy, but he handled himself all right. They played pool but we asked them to leave when we had to go.

Nadia's plans for camping are in jeopardy because Derrick's parents won't let him leave the house or use their car for the trip. They seem to think that everyone should be miserable during the outage and not have fun. Meanwhile people are trying to make the best of it. Derrick's power is still not on in his area.

Drove to Stacy's Provincials but we badly needed gas. If a gas station had any power there were line-ups many blocks away. The 401 was just as bad, cars were lined up for hours and even running out of gas in the line-ups. James and I at the same time got the idea of going off the 401 at Trenton and we were shocked to find a gas station with no line up. We had to buy premium, regular was gone, but we beat the line ups!

Some of the bad attitude girls were in form, lost the first ball game before we even started it. We knew we were fighting an up hill battle so they should have seen it as a challenge and fought the odds just being happy that they got to be in the provincials. Instead some of the parents heard them say that they couldn't win with Stacy pitching, forgetting that one of the first games that they won mid season was with Stacy. Going in without your 2 top pitchers is almost insurmountable but they were winning with guts before so they should have kept that attitude. Stacy pitched great, couldn't ask for better, struck out some, but the complainers are the ones that crumbled.

The coaches daughter was asked to move over in field because Donut Girl said that is where the ball will be going. Meagan took offences to it and didn't move and guess where the ball went? She came back to the bench crying and yelled at Donut Girl that she had embarrassed her in front of her teammates. Everyone just shook their heads. Classic Meagan.

Stacy faced 13 batters in one inning and only walked two, the defence was just that bad and of course coach Jeff criticized to the point Robin yelled "shut up Jeff". Parents were saying again that Stacy should have a tutu on instead of a baseball uniform because she looks like a ballerina. Right after that Stacy caught a fowl ball in right field and in order to extend her reach she took an extra swan leap and really looked the part of the ballerina they were teasing me about. She looked so graceful. I don't really know how to respond to adults saying how beautiful she is but James took the compliment and said, "Thanks, she takes after her dad!"

We went out to diner with the team, had a really good time. The guys gave the waiter a hard time about the beer and Donut Girl's parents really enjoyed James. Stacy was right in not having Sullivan come with us; Donut Girl is very interested in Sullivan, enough that she had told her parents much information about him. That really surprised me, my daughter really sized up the problem and handled it her way.

Nadia was out with her friends to Kelly's house for a swim.

Aug 14/03

I have to go by memory for this day because the power went out, the biggest power failure in North America. I was watching the movie "Maid in Manhattan" with Stacy and April and it cut out. We realized that it wasn't a normal power failure because it was not storming. James was in Peterborough for Monica's game. The team kids all crowded in our van to watch movies. He phoned to say that the power was out there and in Chicago so whatever was happening was huge.

I spent the day with Stacy, talking in the family room with a maze of candles, mostly hers. It seems that the dark and the quiet must go hand in hand. Our voices instinctively lower, the words shared seem secretive, even intimate.

All eyes transfix to the flickering candle light flames, each breath that we take sends sputtering flames into turmoil. As moths to the flame, candles, mesmerize, daring me to stoke the flames. They beckon to be touched, and eventually I give in to the flame, fondle the wax as it makes its way down the candle. I attempt to refuel the fire with the excess wax as it drips down to a puddle below. Spellbound in the glow, I manage to feel the stares of others. I break away from my mission and glance into the faces of my family. Damn, the fire almost won again, I escaped, but it is no wonder I keep the candles locked away for only necessities such as this!

Outside there are sounds of nature, quite alien to our everyday life. The silence is different, inviting. You feel like the outdoors is more than we normally see and we are in awe of the little creatures that we often forget are with us. Normally an annoyance that are stomped out of mind, but today they are hours of entertainment as they go about their normal routine. Only our lifestyle has been interrupted. You wonder why we don't make more days like these. They do but we just don't notice them.

I made the kids go to bed when we were because I was afraid of the candles being unattended and they might caught the firebug as I have!

We went to Nadia's game with Derrick because I had no gas and you couldn't use the electrical gas pumps. Nadia's team got badly beaten tonight so I guess they will be short lived in these playoffs. It is funny but Nadia doesn't seem to need to win in the finals, the defeat didn't seem to bother her at all.

Natasha and Nadia later went to Derrick's house with parent permission, he phoned both to tell them he was going to Nadia's game and asked if the girls could come over for a swim. When they got there his parents were very upset with him for some strange reason, he should have known that it was family time and he should have been in the dark with his family. I don't get it, he asked permission and they said yes. Even his whole neighbourhood is outside socializing so...WTF? They just expect a lot from their son. They took his car privileges away on the weekend that Derrick and Nadia were planning to go camping as punishment. We offered our van and she is trying to get permission from Dave to use the cottage as the campgrounds are shut down.

Aug 13/03

Drove up to Coral's cottage to retrieve Stacy and Sullivan. The atmosphere at the cottage felt aloof and inhospitable. It is still dangerous to have Sullivan with all of Jessie's loyal close friends. I hope they didn't isolate him. If they are snubbing him then they will also be giving Stacy the cold shoulder and I doubt she can handle that kind of pressure. Sullivan and Stacy prepared the food but the others decided to eat at a later time so Stacy and Sullivan were miffed about it. So I know that some kind of ganging up was going on. Sullivan takes charge with the cooking when it is all teenagers though so maybe is just was the timing factor and I read to much into it.

I was surprised that Amy didn't come to see Stacy off when I got up there. Perhaps she was by the water and had been drinking too much but it is not like her to be so unfriendly. I can't help but feel a little hurt that she didn't come up to see me either, but maybe she is upset about me not making the video for her birthday. I really have to figure out what to do with that because I hate disappointing her but at the same time I know how her mom would feel about the contents of the video.

Stacy cut her lip open on the trampoline; her and Coral were on it together.

A terrified Stacy really needed Sullivan when a huge (yeah right) killer bug was on her window so he had to rescue her.

She couldn't find her practice but finally found someone to take her class for Friday. I was very happy to hear that she talked to Sullivan about Donut Girl. I guess she is really ready to trust him enough with her fears and worries.

Nadia wasn't feeling well for most of the day. Finally I asked her to clean out the dishwasher because the place is a mess but she left when it was half empty with Kelly.

James and I worked hard at Gramma's, moving items out of the house with Monica and Gramma and Toni. So many items is going to our house that our house is knee deep in every room... it's overwhelming. After a while we went to Swiss Chalet and they had a deal for $1.00 a piece of dark chicken to take home so we brought 8 pieces home.

Gramma told us that no one realizes exactly what she has been through the past while: the stroke, the SARS isolation, the lose of her speech, the selling of her house and the house deals falling through, the risky operation, the rehabilitation to learn to read, write and talk, the wedding, and the dividing up of the household contents. While Toni is away on holidays she will be at be at various homes too, so she really has been through an enormous deal!

A Computer virus is making news that they say it is so bad that we are telling our kids not to use the Internet today. We can't find the registered copy of Windows XP so we are waiting to hear from Brent. Who did he lend it to now?

April went to the doctors for her arm, he wants her in Physio so she didn't go to her game. She had Brit in a couple of times today. Brit is really physically maturing now- looking more high school age. She is so boy crazy and image wise that I feel that she will be gone from my house the minute she enters high school.

Monica went to Cory's about 9:00, Stacy drove Sullivan home but not before she insisted that he kiss her feet. After the 3rd time she told him that he would be "Oh so freaking happy" if he kissed them again.

Brent just came home!!! Just for a while with TJ and Keith.

Sullivan's mom sent some dolce for James. Stacy said that it is the most that Sullivan's mom has talked to her but she is still very nervous of her. She finds it so uncomfortable to watch when Sullivan tries so hard to please his mom only to hear her scream and demean him in front of her.

Aug 12/03

April was up until who knows when probably around 2am talking to Ryan on MSN, James doesn't know and today Ryan is here visiting her. Mr Walking Hormone (he is fair game after paying attention to too many of my daughters), visiting my daughter April. The good thing about it is that April helped get the exercise equipment from the basement to the front, so slowly it is getting out of our house.

Stacy went up to Coral's cottage with Sullivan and Shane. I am not worried about Sullivan being with Stacy overnight even though this might be the first time they will be together overnight completely alone. I trust him 100% that he will do only what Stacy wants him to do sexually speaking. He told me that they are taking their time because they plan on a long term relationship and I believe him. I just wish that he had a job so that they could have more of a real relationship with a structured time that they could arrange to see each other. The way it is now, it is not real life, it is whenever they want to see each other they do and that isn't teaching them anything about mature long lasting relationships. I think Stacy, who has always needed structure in her life might start to feel claustrophobic. I hope that his affection for Stacy is not keeping him away from having a job - if it is, then that is very wrong.

Cory was over for most of the day and later Monica went to his house for supper. She came home around 11.

April was feeling hard done by because she asked to go for a sleepover at 10pm, that is too late to start arranging a get together away-so Chelsea slept over here. This way I know that they are in for the night and not wandering the streets. From experience when those girls arrange a sleepover that late it usually means they are all on their own and out wandering the streets.

Nadia went out to lunch and was gone for hours. She had my visa so I was stuck at home. Almost all the furniture is out of Gramma's house. It is loaded with garage sale items though, hopefully for this weekend.

James and I went to the Sport's Bar for 1/2 price appetizers...we pigged right out and then to watch Joe's team play.

August 11/03

Nadia new camera, it cot her $479.00 plus, plus! She went with Derrick and Kelly and Kelly bought some camera accessories for Nadia's birthday present.

We got Derrick and Sullivan to help get the table and chairs for Nadia from Gramma's. Nadia helped me get the exercise equipment out of the room. Nobody is using it so I want it out!

Stacy is not feeling well but she will miss her Dr. appointment for a cottage trip with her friends. She stayed in with Sullivan tonight instead of going to her practice. They went out with Shane and Coral to buy food for tomorrow.

Head Games
Brent came home after work and spent the evening here but left when Keith came by. Keith is mad at Steve for trashing his room when he was looking for his sunglasses. Keith is already irritated with him because he doesn't want to room with Steve at College, he wants to meet and experience new people. He couldn't believe how Steve manipulated being room mates, made sure every answer on the form be identical to ensure they are placed together as compatible roommates.

After Steve trashed the room, when the damage was done, Sullivan says he found the sun glasses so removed them, and gave them to Keith later. I hope that action didn't add to the Steve- Sullivan problem but Keith wasn't blaming him for that- he just wants his room intact. Sullivan should not have touched the glasses though, that put him in the story line and it should have been only Steve's problem. Because of this you have to wonder exactly when Sullivan took the glasses. I think that Sullivan saw that there was a problem and tried to embellish the severity of it. Now Sullivan is involved, part of the story. When Brent heard Sullivan tell how he came to have the sunglasses he could see that Sullivan changed his story somewhat. Sullivan doesn't realize that he is dealing with a group of very intelligent kids and it isn't just him trying to outwit everyone. Maybe his manipulation of events usually goes unnoticed but to Brent it was a deliberate head game. Brent just shook his head at me at Sullivan's blatant attempt to get into Keith's good books at Steve's expense and it really irked him.

Monica decided she wanted to change the wallpaper in the laundry room. She spent the day stripping the wallpaper. Cory and her are going to work tomorrow on it.

April went to Brit's softball game tonight.

Queen of the Garage Sales
We had a yard sale this morning at Gramma's house, my mom ran it she was such great help. James and I were initially there but had to go to Stacy's game. Because of the many injures on her team we didn't expect we would advance but we won against Stacy's ex team. China shouldn't have played while injured but we only had 9 players. Maybe they should have forfeited the games and saved themselves for the provincials, give themselves a chance to heal but I guess it was more important to beat the team you love to hate!

Unfortunately Grammie had tea with caffeine, which she shouldn't, she is really sensitive to the affects too, and it was like Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde. James's family could immediately see the effect it had on her so fast. I wish she would cut out her caffeine completely. We brought her back here and we took turns being with her because one of the side effects is constant talking, to the point that she will take any side in any discussion just so the topic will continue.

Grammie went from quoting the bible about homosexuality and how wrong it is, to defending it. She was telling Nadia that she was all right with people being gay which we know is not true. Grammie said that if Nadia told her she was homosexual she could handle it and love her the same. I passed by at the moment and I asked her if she was sure of that, absolutely sure she would be all right with it, and she repeated that it wouldn't bother her. I turned towards the stairs and I called Brent down, her mouth just hung open. Brent didn't have a clue as to what we had been talking about and how I had set him up. Grammie went up to him and said, Brent do you have a girlfriend? When he said yes she rubbed his back and said, "thank god" under her breath. She would never be ok with anything that old society didn't consider normal. Brent laughed about that later too. I bait her from time to time, usually she realizes that I know her well enough, that I know what would bother her. So I poke fun at her. She is going to help run the garage sale again next week too. She is the Queen at the yard sales so me might as well take full advantage of her expertise!

Stacy is really beat. She pitched in major humidity, it was dripping hot muggy - just awful. I was only watching and I could barely stand the heat out there. It is so much more intense on the pitching mound, and the catcher was in distress too. She is supposed to have two baseball practices this week but I rather she not do them so I will phone the coaches. I am over riding the practice. I don't want what happened to her last year to happen again. She hasn't been required to pitch most of the season, it is too demanding on her body to expect what they will of her on the weekend so I am stepping in. Last year when she hurt her chest, we thought it was from pitching. We are going to send her to a pitching clinic after the season so she can correct her delivery.

Nadia followed me around today like a little puppy dog, she was part bored (Derrick wanted a lazy day), part wanting something from me. I didn't mind the wanting at all, she is cute and very deliberate in her movements when she wants something so I enjoy her doing trying to manipulate me. She tries to corner me, puts both her hands towards my shoulders but doesn't touch them and then stares right in my eyes. If I look away or move she re-centers herself back to her in your face routine! We both know she will win! She wants an expensive camera and she wants us to put some money towards it for her birthday and Christmas. Nadia is very cute and I can see her as a little girl when she does this.

It was nice to have Brent home for part of this weekend. When he went to go out he looked at me when I said to give me a call sometime and said, "you know I come home way more often than you think. There is hardly ever anyone home so I come home in the evening and sit there by myself in an empty house and then eventually get bored and go out with my friends." I do know and every now and then one of the kids will say that Brent had been home while we were out, or he a leaving when they are just getting home so I do know that it isn't just him not being there but our family so incredibly busy. He is however, hardly in his bed at night.

Sullivan figured out on his own that Stacy doesn't want him at the Provincials because of the Donut Girl. I hope she talks to him about it, she needs to express herself and share her feelings.

Steve is upset with Brent for telling me about his tryst with the girl and the guys. He has been name-calling, cursing and bad mouthing Brent behind Brent's back. I told Brent if Steve only realized how much that gossip went through town and how many people talked about how shocked that he was involved, he would have to be mad at a lot of people. Steve is the one that did it, he is the one accountable. We were talking about people talking about people behind your backs and how it affects relationships (Adam) and Brent mentioned that people are realizing that Steve talks a lot like that, so I am glad he finally noticed that. Stacy first mentioned that about Steve last year when she was with him a lot. Steve would point out little things about Adam and it surprised Stacy that he would do that. At the time Steve was telling her how much Adam was talking about people and he would predict what Adam would say before he said it. I am glad that the crowd is recognizing that some of the guys are trying to manipulate circumstances by talking about other people and that the main person is Steve. They all think that Steve is changing but maybe it is that he is becoming more aggressive in his comments now now he is more transparent.

Jen's wedding. It was like a princess wedding, they looked like the perfect couple and I hope they are very happy. I tried not to get foamy but I had to choke back the tears when I looked at this young women coming down the aisle and remembering her as a 4 year old, head butting me in the stomach because she wanted the baby (Nadia) to come out so she could hold it. She whispered to me in the receiving line that she thinks that the only one who will fit this wedding dress might be Stacy. She always gave us her hand me downs so it was nice that she is still thinking of us!

Ryan made a comment about not liking the back table at Jen's wedding. Nadia reminded him that the cousins were put at the back at his wedding too. He said that he hopes he won't be there again. They told him that they were all going to get their revenge and he would be at the back of back of every cousins wedding! He said, "Oh no, that is 17 more weddings!"

A girl named Melissa from Ken's side of the family was eye stocking Brent. He would move out of the area and then she would look everywhere until she spotted him.

Our table, all the Edwards men and wives, were talking about boyfriends/girlfriends and Lana mentioned that Derrick was very nice as she had talked to him last get together. Then she brought up Sullivan saying that at the parties he really looks and acts like he cares for Stacy and how good looking they are together. I told how James is introducing him as Stacy's gay friend. They were all giving James heck about that, saying that he treats her very well (people notice these things). James tried to defend himself by mentioning Sullivan's earrings and eyebrow piercing and they jumped all over him, that they are just the style and the age. They asked James if he liked Sullivan and he got very serious and said, "yes I do, he is a good guy." James said that!!!! And that means a lot coming from him. I was impressed at how they told him not to joke like that to Sullivan. James said that Sullivan liked the joking and that it was fun to joke like that with him and that he could take it. They told him to be nice, that they noticed how well they acted together, the body language. I told them that James's comment made James feel safer about their relationship but after the comment about Stacy looking like a boy when she is up to bat, well that showed James that Sullivan intended to be with Stacy in any way and after that I don't think James would be mentioning the gay comment again.

Natasha came to look in on the dog while we were at the wedding. Caesar didn't eat anything while we were gone so he does get upset when he is alone for long periods. We are such a large family so he is hardly ever home alone. Nadia slept downstairs with him to make up for the long time we were away. I don't want that to be a regular occurrence because he needs to be alone and nighttime he needs it. I hate when they lock him in their rooms and be barks to get out or not to be lonely and I am the only one to respond. He never ever did that as a pup so that means he is learning that behaviour from my kids.

April watched a horror movie so of course she was up most of the night waking Nadia up because she was absolutely terrified.

Brandy is really after Cory now. She phoned him and went to his house 4 times yesterday. Each time she asked something of him he turned her down. Cory is trying to be as honest with Monica as he can but that must be hard because Monica's feelings are getting hurt. Brandy is an annoying girl that will come to the door time after time. I can see that he would have a hard time getting rid of her. She is a pest.

I asked Stacy if she wanted me to ask James if Sullivan could come with us to her Provincials. She thought about it for a while and then declined. Too bad because he has seen most of her games so he should be able to enjoy what they have been striving to achieve. One of Stacy's teammates is paying Sullivan a lot of attention - the one who he teased about being Donut Girl. It has become very obvious lately that Donut Girl is watching him. She invited Sullivan somewhere and then later invited Stacy as an afterthought. I mentioned it to Stacy a while ago that one of the girls face lights up when Sullivan comes to her games and when he is absent she asks about him and she knew right away whom I meant. I have teased Sullivan about her too. I don't for a minute think he is doing anything to encourage Donut Girl and I doubt that think Stacy does either. My daughter has to do what she feels necessary, to protect her interests, even if it means her boyfriend can't accompany us.

Poor James, the time has come. He went to the doctors today... he must lose weight. He needs to get his cholesterol checked, should have had the test today but he had a cup of coffee at Marita's. Apparently the signs of impending diabetes are there and it is only a matter of time unless he changes drastically...diet and exercise. He has gained 25 pounds in the last couple of years and his tummy is just too big. He is hurting himself. I think we should hang on to our medical plan even though it I so expensive.

I talked Monica out of wearing her short white shorts - too cheeky and so Stacy took Monica shopping in Pickering for new ones. They came home with matching blue and yellow comforters too. I like seeing them together looking so happy.

Josh has concerns about Brent. He said 'people' have been talking about Brent and he is worried about him. Some of Brent's friends are unhappy with Brent being with TJ. The only person who Josh could have seen on a regular basis to spread these rumours would be yep you guessed it, Steve. Josh and Steve worked together at No Frills. 'They' say that Brent is now smoking and it is because of TJ. They also say that you can go past her house when Brent is not there and find both of her old boyfriend's cars there. Brent is with her so much that I can't see how that could possibly be, but he has been warned so the next step is all up to him. I just hope that he is seeing the true picture and that he is the one that is right. I told Josh that it was Brent who has to make the decisions, that he has been made aware of what people think and it is totally up to him. Brent phoned Stacy the other night to question her about what is being said and her involvement but she has not talked to or seen TJ in quite a while (she never has really talked to her) so she doesn't know what is going on. Some people are mad at Brent because they bought products from his company and he has their money but they don't have their merchandize. Can't blame them there.

After work Stacy went out with Amy and Melissa. I need for my kids to socialize with friends as well as their boyfriends/girlfriends to maintain a balanced relationship. I don't think that Sullivan is keen on Stacy being away from him at all and she is feeling tied down somewhat. She actually told me today that she needs some time alone from him to be by herself and with her girlfriends and I agree 100%. It turns up that they met up with Sullivan later at the Doobie Brothers. I wonder how she felt about that?

Stuff
Worked on emptying Gramma's house. It will be difficult to get the garage sale in, I don't see how all the stuff is going to get out of the house and no one is helping with that aspect of the move. There doesn't seem to be any time to have it. We were over a couple of times an we have brought so much stuff over to our house that we are knee deep in it things like cleaning solutions and food. It is amazing how much things you accumulate over a 50-year marriage. People can't believe how easily Gramma says get rid of it but I think that she is embarrassed about how much there is in the house and how many things are there that aren't necessary. For example, Grampa never threw anything electrical out. If it were a lamp that was not wanted he would keep the plug, and the switch and even the light part and throw out the body. Everything was organized but...wow there is so much work to do.

I talked to Steve today at No Frills. I wasn't going to bring up anything, just small talk because I have been feeling uncomfortable around Steve lately. I have been avoiding him, even trying to stay away from the store or keeping out of dairy but this time he was up at the express counter so I would have been very rude if I had ignored him there. I know that he is the main source of what I hear about Brent and the gang but it is not worth talking to him, when I have such bad feeling about him. If I talk to him or even acknowledge what he is saying, he could turn around my words to Brent and make it sound like I was prying into his life. He brought up Brent, not me. He said that he hasn't seen very much of Brent at all, that he is mostly with TJ, "so it isn't just you, his friends are missing him too". Brent has mentioned that when he is here at home, we are never home, which is true too. Steve is going to be rooming with Keith at college.

Brent was home when we got home!!!!! I gave him big hug and was with him for quite a while. He looked exhausted, he has to get up for 4:45am so he should be in bed.

Monica's team won both games. I find it hard to believe that Monica hit a girl in the head - she was about 6 feet tall, of all people to hit. Her aim is usually so accurate but she said that she palmed her ball by accident and couldn't release it properly.

I can't believe that Stacy's game was cancelled. We saw no lightning at all and either did the Nadia or April's game. Nadia really enjoyed her game. Her friends sicial event is going to her game and tonight Nadia caught some fouls she really had to go out of her way for so she was very happy.

April went to Mel's house afterwards and they drove her home late in the evening.

Dennis, the coach on the other team that no one likes, came up and kissed me, and shook James hand, really shocked me but I guess he did it because James and I have never fought with him, one of the few parents who haven't. This is the 3rd town where he has coached in three season...he's moving east!

James has coached in the last 3 games, the girls really want him too, so says the parents.

Now Brandy is emailing me. I decided to use the fact that she thinks that I think she is a very nice person. I really know she is a Eddie Haskil. Maybe if she thinks I have a good impression of her she will stop bugging and be nice to Monica even though Monica says she wants nothing to do with her.

Emai From : Brandy"

yah i think i would no what i did this summer and you dont! and now Monica is mad at us becuz of wat was said! ITS NOT TRUE!!!!!! Belive me i think i would no if it was true or not!!

Email to Brandy

It doesn't really matter what I think. You have always been a nice person to me, very polite, but this email and your msn message doesn't even sound like the polite Brandy I've always known.

If Monica is mad at you why don't you just try to forget about it and be the sweet person that you have always been to me, and time will probably mend any hurt feelings Monica has. Phoning Monica and then hanging up on her is only going to make things worse.

I don't even understand what you meant when you started talking about tic tac toe and chalk on msn. That is the only comment you made to me that made me question whether you did it or not.

I hope things work out for you two. Having a friend that is loyal and trust worthy is very important. I sincerely wish that the trust she had for you does return. As I said before time will tell.

I will talk to you later Brandy,

Annie

Stacy drove Sullivan home tonight and they passed a bad accident. He was thoughtful enough to contact me on msn and tell me about the delay.

Well I couldn't believe my eyes this morning when I took Caesar for a walk. A car pulled up into our driveway and at first I couldn't recognize who it was because I can't find my glasses. It was Sullivan and was so surprised, shocked is more like it. He only has his G1. I asked him for his licence and he said that he borrowed the car to bring a present to Stacy. He didn't want to come in, because they had told each other that they wouldn't be giving anniversary gifts (4months) so he just set the gift up on the stairs and left. I hope he gets his licence soon but he did promise to take the back roads.

April's arm is really hurting her. We have to find a time to take her to the doctor. Right now it is about a week's wait to see one. April told me that Phil, down the street pulled a knife on his dad when his dad was trying to discipline him. Many police cars answered the call.

April had a friend over who really isn't a friend; she is the friend of a friend. I think April got used in this whole situation. The girl is going out with Ryan and is Brits's best friend but for some reason they hate each other right now, probably because Brit has always liked Ryan. Teenage drama! I went up to him and when he was playing a computer game with April and yelled at him "what are you doing with my daughter?" and poor guy was fumbling all over his words. I told him that he should know me by know (I probably scare the shit out of him!) but he looked so confused. He is sporting a lot of curly ringlet long hockey hair. Somehow on the Internet this girl befriended April but probably so that she could get to see Ryan.

Brandy phoned Monica, wanted to know who said that she wrote about Monica on the school wall and Monica said that she didn't want to talk about it so Brandy hung up on her. Monica says that she doesn't want to be friends with her at all. She put up with a lot over the years and I never thought this day would come. Holly came over on her roller blades, told a story to Brandy about where she was going. Monica thought that Holly wouldn't want to hang out with her because she has been spending a lot of time with Brandy.

Sullivan came back in the afternoon and Stacy baked a cake for him, first time in 5 years that she baked. In grade 8 she made muffins that were so incredibly hard that I had to buy them all back at the bake sale to protect my daughter from the cooking jokes. Only the teacher had tried them and he encouraged me to get them off the table as fast as I could! The cake was good, major achievement! They look very happy together. She wrote on her Sullivan wall again.

Monica played in the rain in Aurora, pitched very well so Cory's help is paying off. We went to Shoeless Joes for a late night supper with coach Paul and family.

Just phoned Brent tonight. He is working regular hours, has to leave around 5am so at least he is sleeping routine hours finally. That was important to me for him to achieve since it has always been a downfall for him. I guess it takes a girl in his bed to make him want to go there!

We keep getting mail for Brent from Centennial. I guess he hasn't told them that he is not coming back. Grammie told me a while ago, she wants the money back that she gave him for his tuition but we told her that we have nothing to do with it and it is between her and Brent.

Stacy still has to try and figure out what she will do for September. She has been offered alternate courses at Durham but her heart is set on Sports Adm. I hope she goes to college. I don't think she has spoken to Grammie yet about her tuition. I really worry about her going back to High school. I don't want it to happen, but it is her choice.

Sullivan is going to Centennial. He had put away his money so that he couldn't touch it so that is good that he saved it for school. It shows self discipline.

Aug 5/03

It is 12:45am, I am getting the answering machine when I call Cory's and my stomach is in knots. Monica just got home. I told her if she did this again she would be grounded from Cory.

Nadia spent hours with me today, out in the back yard and throughout the house. She wants me to put my diary on the web but I have reservations about that. Maybe I will change the names to protect the innocent? But it was great to be with her. I think that I was feeling so low because of the medication I am taking. It is having side effects.

Monica is really taking charge and working around the house. She is regularly doing laundry and now she is even polishing silver!

Stacy drove to Sullivan's for breakfast, his mom has gone out east for a vacation. They went shopping and she bought us some clothes! She pitched although she is so sore; she is not used to pitching a full game and she has to regain the strength to do so.

Monica went bowling with Cory and Holly. Holly wanted Brandy to come but Monica said no, she doesn't like her and won't be around her.

I think that Sullivan solved his own problem about James saying that he is gay. When Stacy went up to bat he said that she looked like a boy from behind. I thought about that comment for a sec and repeated it to James while I couldn't help but laugh. James knew exactly what we meant and said that now he is concerned. I don't think he will be calling Sullivan gay anymore. The remark came across as Sullivan will take Stacy any way he can so if James thinks he is gay, then Stacy looks like a boy. It was funny.

Brandy contacted me on msn, why a kid would look up an adult I have no idea. She must be feeling guilty about writing insults about Monica on the school wall. She was tryng to act smart assed on msn until I reminded her that she brought up tic tac toe which was on the wall beside the smear and since she said that she hadn't seen it, then she must be lying.

April has been very bored today and actually started to read. She needed quiet so she asked if she could stay in Brent's room tonight so Nadia can watch TV.

Nadia told James that she is thinking of boarding at Sarah and Adam's basement for $50.00 a month. I am surprised that she would even think that way but I guess she would have to get a job and maybe that would be good. Then she could afford things like TV, computer, Internet, not to mention transportation money. It is a weird feeling that she would want to live there; to me it would be lonely because both Sarah and Adam work long hours (that is how they got in the position to be so independent) and she would be relying on Derrick. In my opinion, Nadia is so close to marrying that to me she should be putting herself in the position of having as much money as possible and staying at home would make more sense. I just hope she sees the big picture but ultimately she is an adult and she has to do what she thinks is best for her. I just thought that she would like to start her life without us on top instead of trying to save when you owe other people.

Nadia is out at Sarah's house tonight for dinner. They brought them a bottle of wine from James and some candy.

Monica had an exhibition game in Oshawa so that they could practise with the added players Oshawa will be taking to the Nationals. They are the host so they automatically get to go. It was scorching out and we got burned. I really understand why Monica didn't get invited to pitch for their team even though they were interested in her. The other pitchers are one year older, bigger and have had that much more experience.

I feel sad today, I guess it has suddenly built up on me because I haven't felt like this in over a year. Maybe because of what James told me about Nadia is making me feel weird and already lonely for her.

Brent is another story, I feel deserted by him. I don't even mind him being off all the time, I just thought that he would try and keep in contact with me from time to time. Brent really seemed to need me for so long, I was with him probably more than my other kids just because of the fact that he would wake me up to talk, I thought that he needed that from me. Since he was in grade 6, I spent so many nights up with him that it was a regular occurrence. I would have liked to have known TJ but she isn't anywhere near me so I can't see how that is going to happen.

Monica, just the length of time she has been going out with Cory, is taking liberties in how long she is staying up. I trusted that she would be home around 11 or at least phone but that hasn't happened. So I get to sit here and worry about her.

Nadia partied at Le Scratch until 1:45am, when Kelly's dad picked them up and drove back to Kelly's. They spent almost $200 between the four of them. Although they had many drinks and multiple shooters Nadia feels that she did not get overly drunk and that they were all safe with each other. They stayed up at Kelly's until 3:30 am and woke up about 9:30am (can't sleep in at sleepovers when you're 'old').

Stacy's team advances to the Provincials! They had to beat her team from last year and they beat them 4 -0. Unfortunately it looks like we might lose China. She took a line drive to her sore knee. The ambulance had to medicate her on the spot. It is bruised but she has had so much problems with her knees in the past that anything about her knees is serious. Perhaps her knee brace (which they had to cut off) helped to keep everything intact. Her dad had left us moments earlier in his fire truck but couldn't answer the call because he had another call and he was supposed to be in another part of town. Our coaches daughter chose to diss the other team by thanking them for the hotel room. She really has a hatred for that team, they did not invite her back for tryouts and they ended up in a huge fight last season. One of our fans had started a rumour that the other team had already booked their rooms for the Provincials. We behaved badly so for what it is worth, the other team is putting in a grievance. His team cheered on the next team we had to play which was poor sportsmanship too.

Some parents said that Stacy had the wrong uniform on, she should be wearing a tutu because she looks more like a ballerina than a baseball player! She pitched the next game, which put us in 3rd place. This is the first time she has pitched a complete game this season and she is hurting so much that I gave her a long message in the evening with oils. She hasn't been practising her pitching all season because they have made no attempts to warm her up for games until just lately, when coach Jeff has been absent. Therefore she does not have the physical strength to pitch a whole tournament. As soon as the soreness is gone she has to practice for her own sake. If China doesn't heal soon and with our number one pitcher away for the Provincials, Stacy will have to carry the pitching load herself. They don't allow any call-ups in the provincials.

Nadia worked on the softball web page for a couple of hours. At around 3pm Derrick called and invited her over to his house for dinner and to hang out. They listened to oldies (Derrick's now 'discovered' them), he made her chicken wings, and then they watched Gangs of New York.

April and Monica had the neighbourhood kids in to play board game. They attacked my huge Jellybean jar and went on a Jellybean rampage. Billy, Scott and Jeff ate about 4 pounds in one sitting. Then April had a babysitting job where she made $30.00. That will not stay in her pocket long!

We went to Gramma's house to see the disassembling of the contents of her house. Mark had a huge truck for the stuff that Brain and him wanted. Grammas neck looks very well healed from her recent operation and she looks good. Unfortunately Shelly, Mark's wife hugged her neck too hard and that hurt. Shelly announced that she is having another baby! Steven, Mark and James brought over the pull out couch for the exercise room that never gets used. Sullivan, whether he realized it or not helped out by keeping Adam occupied and he even took him swimming.

I have been noticing that Jeff from basketball camp is still phoning Monica. Cory won't be pleased if he knows about that.

Stacy's Provincial qualifiers started at 8:30 last night and ending after 11 innings five minutes before midnight. Stacy was got caught in run down twice and was successful with one but got hit in the head with the ball the second time and finally got tagged. It was good to see that she was so determined and didn't just give up. She said that she was completely disoriented after she got the hit in the head and didn't know what base she was near, just that there were people all around her. Our catcher left to go to the cottage with her boyfriend during the game and took the catchers mitt with her! She hasn't changed a bit for rep, still only committed to her own needs. The girls were furious with her for abandoning them during a very important game. Personally I think she is a poor catcher with too much attitude and that we are better off without her.

Brent phoned at 1:30am to ask if he could bring a party load of kids to our house. The answer has to be no, but it would be easier to say yes if this was his home base but it is not. He hasn't slept here regularly since he has been going out with T.J.

I went to the doctor this morning, I have a bladder infection and have to take big honking horse pills. I also talked to the doctor about Monica, her relationship, her age and the talk I must have with her about birth control. I don't want her to think I am giving her permission by discussing the pill but I want to her be in control of all situations. Monica and Cory are very close, too close for someone their age. James thinks that by talking about the pill it is like giving her permission to have sex. I told him that it gives her more control like her older sisters. Nadia was on it and waited 3 years before making that important decision, Stacy 4 years and up to the last while I was sure she was still not active so I assume she still is not sexually active- her choice. They have to make the decision as to when they are ready and I have already explained to Monica that the longer you wait the more mature your decision will be and everyone wants to be thought of as mature.

Stacy had more ball today, they lost one, won the next so they move on. When there was a rain delay some of us fans went to the Sports gardens for a drink. James has been introducing Sullivan as Stacy's gay friend for a while; Sullivan is being a good sport about it. I don't think Stacy is too keen on that tease. Sullivan has got to know most of the fans and the boys love him. He rebel roused the boys by taunting one of the girls, calling her Donut girl. Well, Donut girl loved the attention but if Sullivan had seen the look on Stacy's face he would have stopped the teasing immediately, she was not impressed by the interaction at all. After the game Stacy and Sullivan went to Lick's with her team.

Nadia was out all day with her friends, for Kelly's birthday and she is staying out over night. Nadia went out with Natasha and Kelly and got their hair done at Hair Fitness (I think Natasha has pictures) because they were planning on going out. They met up with Derrick and went to Kelly's house. Nadia had her dinner at Kelly's, gave her, her present, which was matching plastic ware, Nadia' speciality. At about 10:30 they got ready to go out on the town and Kelly's dad drove them to Le Scratch.

Monica slept over at Kate house, she rode Kate's horse and groomed him, so she really enjoyed that experience.

Brent came home to borrow some booze and party at Doober's. He took a Mickey of Captain Morgan's rum. I hope he takes it easy. TJ came in, waved at us, and then left.

James never mentioned his dad's death today. I guess he has his mom's health on his mind instead.
