Peaces Of Me++++
++++ The miles just keep rollin as the people leave there way to say hello I've heard this life is overrated but I hope that it gets better as we go |
Oct 30/02 Stacy went to a Restaurant with Jessie for lunch. The waitress didn't treat them too kindly, blatantly ignored them so that another waiter helped them out. I hate it when kids are treated this way. Don't they realize all the future business they are throwing away? Jess C. and Woody were robbed and beaten in a Park. I heard that Jess had his cell stolen so I asked Stacy if she knew who the "18 year old men" were when I saw the write up in the paper. 18-year-old men sounds strange but I guess they are men now. Monica was at the dentist at noon, and then over to Grammies while James went to a funeral home - work related. Monica was disgusted when Grammie felt it necessary to talk about sex, I guess she figures that we don't. My picture was printed in the local newspaper for the cross country team! Dan got suspended from school for 3 days for telling people that the pop machine was open. Another kid got 20 days for lifting the pop machine cash box. Another kid was taken away for the Principal's office in handcuffs. What a crazy week. James found this while cleaning up his computer, I love finding April's notes - what a little woman! Dear Lauren, I made this on Sept 23, 2002. Hey! I just read the letter I wrote you before! Oh my GOD!!! It is so long ago that I made that! So now what's up. I wonder what you and Nickey did 6 years ago!?!? That would make us what 8 years old when I wrote the last letter! I still want you guys to come see my grandme's house! Lol. It's so funny how things turned out for us eh? I thought we would be best friends forever. Don't get me wrong. I still have a best-friends spot for you in my heart. So who's your best friend now? Oh yea how's your new high school? I love high school... Well mostly the guys! John H. is SOOO hot! Yea and I met new guys too. Kyle, Derek, Chris, and the list go's on... Any hot guys at your school? Did you make many new friends? My school is big I got lost 1ce so far... I no like EVERYBODY! And Stacy's ex-boyfriend Jess C is SOOO hot! And he no's I like him, he's in OAC. Nevertheless, he's still hot! I can't believe I thought I wasn't a kid anymore at age 8! Wow, my mom must have had it hard with me! Lol. So how are your mom, dad, and Gran? I remember always calling her that... Even when she had the heart attack in the letter I wrote her it said Gran. Your family was like my second family! Does your mom still work for Sears? And is your dad still a teacher, was it? I'm pretty sure that’s what it was! Oh yea. You looked so pretty for graduation! I loved your hair! I never did get to see the dress on you, besides in pictures. Which I might add as it looked white in the pictures, but it was suppose to be BLUE! Lol. I've only wrote 3 paragraph's but it's still more then in my first letter to you. Okay. I'm going to keep both these letters till 2006. Maybe I'll find it again and I'll write in it and we will STILL be friends. And maybe I'll have my drivers license! OH! I CAN'T WAIT! Well see you when your 16! P.S. If I missed any of your birthdays... I'm saying it now, SORRY! And I will also sing it for you...here I go... Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Lauren. Happy Birthday to YOU! And Many MORE!!! Sincerely, April Edwards KC Annie at 10/31/2002 04:21:00 a.m. April slept with the light on, still terrified about the movie. After I walked Caesar with Linda, I got a call from the school, saying that Stacy was not at school for first period. Amy's mom phoned later about it and I basically said for her not to worry about it, that they are good honour students in their last year. She wouldn't let it go, phoned the school and found out Amy signed in with parental permission letter so she must have forged her mom's signature. Oh, Oh- I learned very quickly from Brent that you never ask the school too many questions about your kid, you could get them in more trouble. Shane got suspended indefinitely for handling out papers about a girl named he has been dissing, Jessie, 3 days for going in the computer under Shane's name to delete the file that Shane had used to create the hate literature. Amy got 2 day in school suspension. Monica had a teacher student Volleyball game and a school game where their coach mentioned how strong Monica was and that he wanted her on his rep team next year. While Monica was walking the dog and we saw Cory wrap his arm around her. She nervously looked back at our house and saw our noses glued to the window. Cory must be fairly freaked that our huge family was watching him get chummy with Monica! She says that he was only trying to strangle her. Right- ok. Annie at 10/30/2002 04:12:00 a.m. I turned on my monitor this morning to an in your face message from April font size 72. To you: (Ya YOU!) Get out of my LIFE! I don't need you telling me what to do! Just back off... Let whatever happens happen! Let me lead my own life in the direction I choose! Geeze! April Edwards This... from the same person who was begging to get in my bed all night because she went to a scary movie with her friends. She is absolutely screaming terrified about the movie The Ring. I don't think she slept a wink again last night. Ya, April you da boss! Brent stayed home from school today because his head hurts so much from smashing it against Rich's head on the weekend. They did it while on a pumpkin smashing rampage. Smashing heads/smashing pumpkins haha! I asked Brent about Adam and he and Robin have been having a little soap opera life. He tried to get back with Robin after he had broken up with her before the summer. She is playing ahrd to get, giving him a hard time and just when it looked like they might get back together Adam fooled around with another girl, of course she found out about it. Now Robin is making Adam jump through hoops while she dangles hope of a relationship. Brent says he really doesn't know what to think of their relationship. Nadia got a $500.00 scholarship from the College for her marks last year! Way to go! She collected a couple hundred dollars for the sweatshirts she is designing. Stacy trained for the first time with the xl's and there training was extreme on the track and in the bush. She said the warm up was the equivalent of the her old clubs entire practice! Jessie phoned Stacy when she got home, told him she would be ready after a quick shower and he picked her up over an hour later. She wasn't too happy - called him the stupid boy, because he took Kate M out to get tickets somewhere, which he didn't mention until the second phone call. Annie at 10/29/2002 04:00:00 a.m. It was a dark and stormy night. No it wasn't, it was a dark and confusing night for me. I had a head and body ache, probably from all the cold, standing for x country. I tried to warm up by snuggling under my covers only to fall asleep before my family was all safe inside. That is where the confusion comes in. I was bombarded with late night phone calls and people trying to shake me awake. I don't normally go to bed until all my kids come so I guess I am feeling guilty. April woke me up with a phone call, wanted a ride home from Tara's. I uncharacteristically refused, made her walk home. She had been at the movies to see The Ring. Tara's mom picked them up from the movies but drove away with April half out of the car, which terrified her. My big ol toughie April won't admit it but scary movies make her imagination go wild in the night, she kept startling me by wandering in my room. She was afraid to go to bed alone but too big to crawl in bed with me for comfort. Then Stacy phoned from a party; I drove in my PJ'S and drove Jessie home too. I was so tired I felt cross-eyed, probably should have been driving. Sometime in the night I am aware that I was talking to Nadia and Brent is a vague memory. This is what I have a guilty conscious about. He came home hurt, worried that he had a concussion and I slept through him begging for help. He was running through a field with the Doobie brothers, they had been drinking vodka, and somehow smashed heads together. All I said was "OK". What a good mommy eh? Oh, apparently Nadia got hurt yesterday too, came in my room last night for some sympathy but I also sent her away. Bad mommy. She twisted her ankle in a pumpkin patch on a steep hill. I have a feeling my older kids were into some Halloween pranks. Josh was driving last night, which worries me because lately Josh can get into some questionable predicaments. He has been ATVing with the boys but also I have noticed their vehicles looking pretty muddy, they wash them faithfully but I imagine they have been off road in the night with them. Brent got up early this morning, earlier than he thought because the time change and he went somewhere with Brandon Alexio and Dan but he wouldn't tell me where. Turns out they tried to go to a store opening but when they saw the line up they left. Annie at 10/28/2002 04:45:00 a.m. God it was rough getting up this morning. James and I both have the feeling that we had really good sex last night but we hare not sure how good our memory is right now! Too much alcohol! Monica went to the Provincial Cross Country, another cold day outside. and she came in 22nd. A woman at the finish line chastised Monica, said that if she had put more into her run like she did for her finish, she would have placed better. Monica was offended and in tears. Considering these kids do this on the rep level Monica's 22 spot was a decent place to end up in. The woman had no business saying anything to her, only her coach should know if she ran a good race for her. Some of the parents who overheard wanted to talk to the lady but Monica wanted no part in it. Stacy had work and then another baseball tryout, burrrrrr! After that she went to Jessie's for the rest of the day. She phoned from an outside party, the older sister wouldn't let the younger crowd in so they checked in to another party. I took a burned cd over to Colleen of the cross-country rep pictures. She had asked me to take them for the newspaper but I would rather she select which one and have her send it herself. Colleen warned me that Cory's dad smoked pot openly in front of the kids and their boys are destined to follow suit. I get the feeling that she is trying to persuade me to make Monica break up with Cory but he is a quality kid. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I reminded her that they are pot smokers too, that she had even mentioned to me that they were considering smoking pot in front of their own kids. She denied that she smokes. She might have stopped but her husband hasn't. But what really bothers me is that of the three main kids Monica hangs out with the most, all the fathers smoke up and they are not discreet about it. I hope that doesn't influence Monica. I have heard that Cody talks a lot about wanting to try drugs. Brent has started up his business with Brandon Alexio today with the first items on line. The credit card worries James, why would the banks give it to them when they don't have jobs? Monica had Holly over for the night and since the entire basement contents are all over the house (what a mess) they slept in the living room. Holly broke up with Cody, it was almost a year they went out. She said she doesn't want a boyfriend anymore but Monica told me before that, they had kissed and that their relationship felt different to Holly after that. Twelve years old with a long term boyfriend? They are toooooo young. I wonder if Cory and Monica will follow suit? I don't know where Nadia went, she is not home yet and I am about to go seek out warmth. Annie at 10/27/2002 01:18:00 a.m. We found the restaurant we want for the Christmas dinner, Harbourfront 60 in downtown Toronto. It cost $180.00 for two! I didn't have anything to wear so I tried on my leather pants. They didn't quite fit so I had to lay down on the bed to zip them up, just like my old teenage days when we used to pour ourselves into our stiff denim jeans and suffer the entire night- all to look good. Nowadays everything has stretch in it except those blasted leather pants. I felt that I had been challenged so I wore them almost all night. I brought my corduroys as a back up and put them on finally, to breathe after many beers! Went to Jessie's hockey game with James and out for drinks at the Sports Garden with Mario and Hannah. James and I drank a lot. Hannah drove us home because Stacy didn't know their plans. It would have been nice if Stacy had of been able to drive us but Stacy really doesn't know Jessie's plans ever until the last minute. I was disappointed that Stacy wouldn't stay because it is the first time we have ever asked her for that favour and she said she didn't want to. They went to a party where one of the partiers received a bad cut in the face, horseplay. April went to Erin's Halloween party. Erin became upset with April when April was going to come to the party late to see a hockey game with Ryan F. She has to learn that she can't do everything in one night and she has to place priorities with her friends. Annie at 10/26/2002 04:19:00 a.m. Yesterday James spent a lot of time talking to Monica about taking her frustrations out on me, expecting too much from me. He told her that most moms don't see half of what goes on in kids lives, but I am with her at the expense of everything else. He asked her if she wanted our relationship to change but she said that she wanted me with her like it has been. Today she treated me with all the respect and kindness she ever has had in her, with one little setback. Even though she tied to be ready by 8:15 she still wanted a ride from me and stamped out of here. Oh well, almost. Monica came home in a panic, she had lost the basketball pendant that Cory lets her wear. She went to give it back to him and it was gone. Luckily April and Stacy went out to look for it with her and they found it! They also found Caesar's tags - lucky eh? Monica went out after supper, late getting home so James went out looking for her, only to find her in the arms of Cory, so James 'went mental' on her, or so she thinks. James says he hardly said a word, that it was her own conscience getting to her. Stacy made supper for the second day in a row! Unfortunately James told her that he would eat anything that she made and then insisted on wieners and beaners so she got upset with him. He has been baiting her lately, I don't think he realizes that but she is getting mad at him and all I can do is shake my head, he is such a tease. Annie at 10/25/2002 04:11:00 a.m. Monica ran x-country, a good strong race, and placed 8th for the Durham Finals. At one point for 3 seconds she was in first place ahead of her number one rival, running full force down a very steep hill! I am sure that Jenn doesn't think of Monica as a rival, just briefly in the 800 last spring. That was Monica's goal, to be ahead of Jen even if it was for a few seconds! Her team got 6th place. She is coughing quite a bit, maybe Asthma or a cold, I don't know. I talked with our old principal, he told me that he has suspended 16 kids and two have been arrested in his office. It is a very rough school. Monica's old chess coach was at the meet too, gave me a big hug and asked me to help with the Chess Tourney at his new school. I bumped into Stacy's old grade 7 teacher today, which was very strange. Just before I left this morning I picked up a small piece of paper and since I was in a hurry I crammed it in my back pocket for later. When I was emptying my pockets in the evening I found the phone number he had given to Stacy in Grade 7. Musical interlude-do, do, do, do, do, do, do, - the twilight zone! He asked a lot of questions about Stacy, the main one being, was Stacy doing what most of the smart pretty girls do in High school? Did she get together with a dumb jock? I guess the look on my face gave me away because he started saying, "OH No, why do they do that?" Well I know why, I did it too! Jocks are often into themselves, their sport and the guys. I know this is a generalization but it is my opinion. You don't have to put your heart into it, they really don't get to know you and it keeps the other guys away! I really wish that she could find a guy that she could truly talk to. I would like her to feel real teenage passion, weird coming from a mother, but I think that is where she would really get to know herself. It's not Jessie, even though I truly like him but I know she is bored and restless. He just can't talk to her the way he should. And I don't mean lovey dovey, she wants to be stimulated intellectually. She figured that out when she got to know Steve. she doesn't want Steve, just someone that she can talk to like she did with Steve. This teacher really helped her grow up a lot in grade 7, He challenged her shyness every chance he got and while every other parent hated him, I thought he was the best thing to ever happen to Stacy. Brent was on the Durham College roof today along with the Doobie brothers to help their dad who is working there. James came with us to her volleyball tonight. They have split the girls up, it looks like grade 8's on one team and 7's on the other. Monica wanted to be with the grade 8 to have a coach she has always admired, but the others are great coaches too. Stacy went with Coral, to Jessie's out of town hockey game. I am happy she finally has some other girlfriend who she can hang out with at Jessie's games since Shane is on the same team. They all get along well so hopefully Jessie and Stacy will get to see more of each other. Brandy was suspended for stealing 2 volleyballs from school. I wonder what she looked like trying to smuggle them out! Did she think they would pass for her boobs? Nadia has been eating those damn Crispers again. I found 2 empty bags in the family room and 2 beside her bed. She says that Derrick buys them but they wouldn't be found where they were if she wasn't eating them. I wish he wouldn't buy things she shouldn't eat. She needs help losing weight. Annie at 10/24/2002 04:59:00 a.m. LOSSA - Cross country meet and it was raining and just too darn cold. Stacy came in 17th place. Found out she really came in 3rd at pre LOSSA so that is why she got the medal! There was this puppy dog, I mean guy, who tagged along with me today, spent a lot of time with me there under an umbrella. Everywhere I went he would run after me with this umbrella. Since many guys have used that method (sticking with her mommy) to get through to Stacy I asked her about him. Stacy told me that he follows her around quite a bit. He has been at our house for parties with Brent and he liked Chrissie when Brent took her to the Prom. After the meet, Stacy and I tried to warm up with a hot lunch, hot chocolate and beer. I asked for warm beer but apparently that is not recommended for fighting off the cold. We were chilled to the bone. Grammie's birthday dinner and she was good company. We took her to the Canoe in downtown Toronto in the Toronto dominion Towers. The dinner costs $280. On the way back we picked up my van, it costs over $500.00! Amy's driving makes me nervous, when even the kids are talking about it. I hope it is just a show off period and it is over fast. Amy drove Nadia and Stacy to the mall and they weren't impressed with her driving. She takes the corners way to fast. Annie at 10/23/2002 04:58:00 a.m. I took my car in for repairs and got a loaner. The kids and I are very concerned about my tires. I am forever putting air in them but they still squeal around the corners. Although Monica protested, she was sent home from school by the principal. She tried to come back at lunchtime but right before she was to leave she had a coughing attack so she resigned herself to the fact that she had to stay home. Because she didn’t follow her normal routine today she forgot she had a babysitting job after school and the poor little guy was stranded at the bus stop waiting for her. April spotted for her but Monica was so upset with herself. Brent said that James and I were hilarious last night and that we took turns having the hiccups. He had a test today, I don't know if he was prepared for it, come to think of it I have never seen him study or do homework for that matter, in college. April came home so excited that Ryan F invited her to watch the hockey game. Why do girls read so much into what guys say and do? Can't they just be happy with friendships? Stacy, Jessie and Shane teased her when they saw her making body contact with him in the halls at school. They get to talk at lunchtime. April ended up phoning me for a ride at 10:30, way too late for her. It is too bad the other girls never ask their parents for rides. She had a lot of fun and Lomar's brother was telling her how much he liked her, how pretty she is and then he asked her not to tell anyone. OK. Stacy went out late to an AAA hockey game with Jessie. She is upset that they aren't seeing each other like they should so she told him she was lonely and asked if he had to work so much. He says he has to work all those hours because of the car. He is practically working full time hours added to school and rep hockey, it doesn't leave much time for a girlfriend. Nadia and Derrick are busy studying for another test. Nadia said that she missed an important class for an interview on which today's test was based - too bad, she hardly ever misses class. Annie at 10/22/2002 04:43:00 a.m. Finally, the kids in the neighbourhood are full of fall fever and are frolicking in the falling leaves! It is usually a whole community effort. They rake and sweep each lawn and pile the leaves sky high up on one lawn. I handed out leaf bag monsters to each household. The kids can stuff all of them as long as I don't get them back! Stacy had a tryout for baseball for another team, even though she made the team from last year she hasn't signed, she wants the option of trying out with this new team. I bumped into one of the baseball mothers at Tim Horton's and then we went to the diamond. We cleaned more of the basement, we somehow have to find or create more storage space. James changed the furnace filter; we haven't had the heat on yet. Stacy went running again with Jess C., this time at the dome because it was raining. She is taking running seriously this time and hopefully she will have a permanent running partner so I won't worry about her not being safe running alone. Monica and Holly watched American Pie 2, when they shouldn't have. Holly's mom was pretty annoyed. James and I did something that we have never, never done before. Between us we opened and drank 3 bottles of wine - Wolf Blast. Let me tell you, it was a blast. Brent stayed at the table with us for hours amazed at our disintegration into complete drunks while laughing with us and probably at us. When we went to bed the room didn't spin like it does when I drink wine, this time I couldn't stop laughing every time James came near me. He said I was laughing uncontrollably extremely loud. Shhhh, the kids! I guess there just is no getting near me when I drink. Either the room spins, I fight or now it seems I laugh. Hopefully my daughters will inherit this trait. Annie at 10/21/2002 04:30:00 a.m. It looks like Brent burst into our house last night took a few step with mud crusted boots then yanked them off sending gobs of mud in different directions. He let the dog roam around during the night while Brent managed to only make it to the couch and collapse. HMMMMMM, where did Brent go last night that he would be so muddy? Josh phoned at the ungodly hour of 7am, demanded that I wake Brent up. I actually had to place the receiver in Brent's hand and direct it to his ear. Josh was urging Brent to go somewhere with him. For five minutes Brent could only muster groans and grunts while you could hear Josh pleading for him to wake up and come out with him. But Brent dozed off while Josh was still on the phone. I told Josh that Brent wasn't going anywhere that he was sprawled out on the couch unconscious to the world. The police had caught Josh at the Whitby psych last night and the police had taken his name. The psych has many abandoned buildings spread out over a large area and is a favourite hang out for kids. Last night as the cops tried to coral all the kids Josh realized he was about to get caught so he ditched his backpack that contained a large hunting knife and a paint ball gun. That is what Josh wanted Brent to help him retrieve it this morning. Josh is finding his own brand of trouble. Brent has spent a lot of time with Josh lately. I tried to contact Stacy this morning at Jessie's where she was dog sitting. She wasn't answering the phone at all and I knew she was supposed to go running today. She slept till 1:00, but managed to get a short run in with Jess C.. I hope no one thinks anything of this association but she needs a running partner and since Jess C needs to run too, why not? Even if I think he is interested in her, she has not made any move towards him like that so I think she only thinks of him as a friend. He hurt her too much for her to feel anything else. Stacy brought Taz over to our house but both dogs wanted nothing to do with each other. My brothers went up north together up to close the cottage today. James couldn't go with them. I don't even think they will stay up overnight. April stayed overnight at Chelsea's with a gaggle of girls. I guess there friendship crisis is over. I told Brent that my computer has been picking up other peoples emails but he said that it couldn't happen, that I am wrong. Is saved the proof this time but Brent won't even look at it. I know I didn't get Colleen's complete email but I received some of it, I think that it somehow got fragmented and because I was on her email list some of it came to me in an error but I don't know. I hate it when Brent just dismisses what I want him to be part of, as if everything that I say has no merit, especially when I have proof. I shouldn't even need to feel that I need proof, my word should be good enough for us to have a conversation where I look even half smart. Annie at 10/20/2002 04:10:00 a.m. Caesar didn't walk on the pool cover this time. The dogs are enamored with each other, really get along well. After our visits Caesar sleeps all morning. Hep B shots in the afternoon only Brandy and Ashley took it bad. They will be the first ones to receive the needle next time, it is better to get the timid ones first. I was surprised that the boys took the needles so well, usually there are the worst. James went to Rama Casino with Dave today, blew $200.00. I am glad that James really doesn't enjoy the gambling experience and very rarely does it. I have never been to one in Canada. Brent and Adam spent 16 hours straight working on a group assignment, while 2 of their classmates didn't even try. Jodi was in a car accident. Apparently her brakes gave away and insurance is covering it all plus they get another vehicle out of it. Nadia went out to a movie with Derrick and Natasha. It was red Dragon and she said it was terrifying. Stacy didn’t like it it either. Natasha's boyfriend never shows up for his dating commitments, says he is not feeling well but he should put up an effort, even if he is not feeling sick, James always did no matter how bad he felt at least he tried. They are planning a future together; she shouldn't have to start feeling lonely even before they are married. You have to live your life and be with your partner. Monica went to Sam's for a big party. One of the twins got into an argument with Sam's mom, just being a little shot, the other one was horrified at his brother because he likes Sam. So there was tension between the brothers in my car when I drove them home. April went to watch guys in hockey, I think that is our national teenage pastime in Canada. She stayed over night at Erin's. The parents are out but her older sister is watching them and she is famous for not letting them get away with anything. They are all having trouble with Chelsea but I told her to be gentle with her now because she centred her out the other day. April told Shane, whom Chelsea adores, that Chelsea has her computer screen wallpapered with Shane's picture. Chelsea was very embarrassed. Stacy is house sitting at Jessie's for the weekend while the family is out of town for hockey. Lisa received this email regarding her Internship Date: Fri, 18 Oct 2002 15:53:03 -0400 Hi Nadia, Just wanted to thank you for your job thus far. You have impressed members of my department and other League employees with your eagerness and dedication, not to mention your attention to detail and work habits. Please let me know in the future if you need more variety, etc. I know it can get a little tedious in that room ... but I will try to keep it as fun as possible! Please also feel free to use the internet and resources available to complete school assignments, etc. We are looking forward to your help in the next 6 months. Have a great weekend. See you next week. Cheers, Rob Annie at 10/19/2002 04:27:00 a.m. Area finals for Cross-country and Monica came in 2nd! The front runner was way ahead, a minute over Monica and Monica had to work hard to fend the third place runner off but she held on to second place. The event was held it at Lakeridge Ski Resort, great venue lots of hills, gravel, big rocks to run over, but it is a beautiful course! Monica's school team placed first, by combining the grade 6's with the grade 7's to make team status. I guess it paid off, they go to the finals! I can't remember our school ever placing a team in cross country. Went to funeral home for Kathy's mother, she finally died of Parkinson's. This is terrible timing for my mother, who has been wagering a war against Kathy and her dad. Why does she do these things? What my mom has been doing to them borders on the unforgivable. But she insists on being noticed no matter how distasteful it has to be, she wants attention. We only stayed for a while but I am glad we went. Their girls were glad we were there as they didn't know anyone there! As we were leaving we met up with my brother Dave out in the parking lot. He weighs more than I have ever seen him, still looks good, but I am not used to seeing him 100% physically fit. Stacy went out with Jessie to his place for dinner and a movie and now she has his car for the weekend. After going over bank statements James became worried that someone somehow got into my account after he noticed a huge increase in activity on my savings account. I only ever use it for saving money, never withdrawal. James phoned and reported it to the bank and as he picked up the phone for the police Brent and Brandon Alexio came downstairs. In my heart I knew it was Brent. Brent has been using my Scotia Bank Card without my consent, nickel and diming me for months. James was extremely disillusioned. The withdrawal amounts were all very little, he kept tabs and proof of what he took out, with the intent on paying back. But with all the service charges on the savings account and withdrawal fees he owes us just over $700.00. That's hard to pay back with no job. I tried to tell James that it must be hard on Brent with his 2 friends, who get everything handed to them, but he has to get a job and then he will be able to look after his own needs. I am just covering for him, I know he was wrong but I also know that he will pay us back. April is upset that Stacy told Sean R to ignore her on ICQ but I told her Stacy was right. Annie at 10/18/2002 04:10:00 a.m. I took Caesar for another walk with Erin's mom and their dog Zak. Afterwards she invited me, dog and all over to her place for tea. The dogs go crazy for each other. Unfortunately Caesar thinks he has to show off for Zak , he walked across the pool cover 4 times! The last time he even laid down on it. It really scarred me because he could have drowned! LaSenza, oh no, they knew me by name! I bought a new card so I can shop there for Christmas. I love buying the girls underwear even though I hope no one actually sees them!. Dave visited James for some Grogs. Drinking has settled down for them, they no longer are locked in the testosterone war, matching drink for drink trying to out do each other's stiff drinks. This makes way for better more intelligent conversation. Derrick took Nadia to the Dentist to fix her filling. She is put off with us because we would not drive her to the dentist but she is old enough to be more independent. We are so busy driving everywhere that the oldest one, 20 years old should be able to find rides herself. Monica's school volleyball team is losing the luck. They were riding high for a while but one player can't keep you in the game. One girl looks so ball shy it would almost be better if they played with 5 instead of 6. I was against the wall watching Monica's basketball and a guy pointed out Monica and said, "that little one is so aggressive!" She does look smaller compared to the other girls there but she has recently adjusted her play to fend off the taller girls. Britt was to stay at Monica's volleyball practice so that I wouldn't have to drive back and forth but tonight I had to because she broke out in hives all over her. I don't think she has the stamina Monica has. After the 3 school volleyball games, house league basketball and then a rep volleyball practice, she looks too beat. April really likes someone new, she says he has got a great personality and he is really a lot of fun. April said "guess who I like mom?" and I said, "that Ryan F." She couldn't believe that I guessed, but kids give clues if you listen well enough. She wanted to know how I knew and I told her that at the hockey game she said that she hated him and he was rude and had a big mouth so I told her that I know what kind of guy she would like, someone who had a smart mouth (like her). He had been really making her laugh lately. She told me he told her that he is a liar then he said, "your beautiful". April responded by yelling, "Shut up you liar!" and Ryan and her both started laughing hard. He also said that he would go out with her. And she called him a liar. They argued about it and she asked him how he could say you’re a liar and then seconds later say that he would go out with her. He said that he guessed that it might not have been the best thing to say first, but he would still go out with her. I told her to call his bluff. What’s the harm if they are both kidding? That is why she was trying to get in touch with Sean F, his older brother on icq, but it doesn't make it right. Annie at 10/17/2002 04:14:00 a.m. Caesar wolfed down the chocolate cake, cellophane and all this morning, jumped right up on the table. I caught him all chocolate faced, startled and he just froze. Our eyes locked, as if he was caught in the headlights, actually it looked like he didn't know how to get back down. So he is pretty hyper with all that sugar and caffeine and I hope that the chocolate doesn't hurt him. He just stares at me and barks. Great now I have to watch to see if the cellophane comes out. Maybe I will be lucky and his poop will be delivered all gift wrapped up tidy, and ready for disposal. I can dream! Ryan F. is in the picture for April, she talks about him incessantly. She loves his sense of humour. I wish that she would like the guys only as friends but her hormones seem to be working overtime. Brent is busy trying to hook up the movie channel for us. I don't even know if he was successful. He changes gadgets around the TV all the time so that I don't even know how the thing works anymore. Stacy went to the mall with her friends, forgetting Jessie's early hockey in Aurora. Jessie got hit hard, collapsed after the game ended, no doubt with a concussion. The goon got a 3 game suspension. Monica had a school Volleyball game on an outside court outside, a little cold but it is a novelty. I went to the Sports garden with James and April. We missed the half price appetizers but managed to talk our way into getting them. Nadia's toothache is still really bothering her. When your mouth is sore that is all you can think about so I am feeling sorry for her. Annie at 10/16/2002 03:59:00 a.m. Last night turned out to be a crazy night. Brent has my cell phone and doesn't want to give it back. I sent Stacy over to Josh's to get it and he still wouldn't give it back. He never came home at all again. Out too late!!! Stacy phoned, she was with Amy and the girls saying she would be late but 2:15am she finally got home. She said that she fell asleep watching a boring movie. Out too late!!! April had some 'friends' over. I would like to know her definition of friends. I don't think she knew these guys at all. They just came in from out of the cold, the majority beings guys that I didn't recognize so these kids were just strays. Nearly everyone was older guys, grade 10's. I thought that they were only coming in for about half and hour to warm up but I ended up ordering them out at 1:30am!!! That is way too late for 14 and 15 year olds and they left the basement a mess. Out too late!!! I agreed to allow Monica to walk the dog late, Cory would be with her and he would walk her home but after they came back they hung outside forever until they had to be yelled at. 12 years old, and she has been giving James a hard time for 10pm and then she does this. Out too late!!! There must have been a full moon or something tonight. Maybe all the commotion was getting on my nerves because I was hurting and when you are in pain everything can bother you. Or maybe I was just a bitch! I am still sore from falling, the pain is going all up my left side. Jodi came here in the morning with a giant slab of leftover chocolate cake. Too bad I can't have chocolate. We woke Stacy up, went out to breakfast at Golden Griddle and then out for a while. James and I spent most of the day cleaning out the workroom. We still have quite a mess to handle even though we threw out a lot. Stacy is finally reading between the lines and realizing that Jessie C. still likes her. After two years it has come full circle. She told me that he said that he is hurting because he lost his chances, he was being stupid but that it is not his place to interfere with her relationship now. I am glad he told her that, it should make some of the hurt he caused her fade away. I think that they possibly can maintain a relationship based on being running partners. Who knows? April was at Erins for a Thanksgiving dinner there. Brent stayed at Josh's again, while the parents are in Niagara Falls. Annie at 10/15/2002 04:35:00 a.m. My Mom joined us for Thanksgiving celebrations at the Edwards, which was a surprise. Normally the sheer number of our kinfolk - 40 plus, intimidates her. Loneliness must have helped overcome her fears. Tonight was Karaoke night! James sisters shied away from the Karaoke machine until they both uncharacteristically had something to drink. That gave them the courage to sing all night! While they entertained everyone I could not help but see the humour in the situation. "I hate it when Dianne and Terry have too much to drink” I wonder if they will forgive me for that remark? Somehow we gathered all the kids together; there were about 20 of them! WE adults used to be the loud party animals now all you can hear is the teenagers. It feels unnatural to have the wine at their tables but they did enjoy it. Our good time was almost over shadowed by their good time. It is no longer a drag to have to sit at the kids' table. When we were cleaning up I overextended my leg on Gramma's uneven steps. There are a number of steps that aren't equal, I always said that someone would get hurt on them, why me though? I couldn't think straight with the pain so James and I left early, even left my mom there. We had two vans so Stacy brought the kids home much later. Oh my leg hurts. Even with painkillers, there is major ouch. Nadia was supposed to give me some really strong meds, I am patiently waiting for her. Darn, she forgot about me and just went to bed. I am too lazy to go downstairs and get something myself - good night! Annie at 10/14/2002 04:27:00 a.m. Our neighbours went camping in Niagara Falls for Thanksgiving. They wanted us to go but no, James doesn't want to camp. Some of our kids were disappointed, I would have loved it too, but I am not going to make a big deal out of this. Josh and Brent needed our assistance when they ran out of gas in the dirty Shwaa. Brent got in a scuffle with a guy while trying to make the phone call to us. The rude dude pushed a lady around until Brent reached into the booth, hung up the phone and told him to get lost. It scares me when Brent tries to defend the under dog. I always think that some jerk will hurt him when he is trying to make things better. Nadia had some people from school here, which doesn't happen to often. It is harder to socialize at College when you are not in residence. I think the best way to meet people at college is to befriend a few people from residence and join in on their parties. After the school people left, Nadia and Derrick went out to dinner at Boston Pizza. I brought April and her friends to Jessie's hockey game . Hannah said they had a great time last night at the Sports Gardens, lots of people, live band with dancing. Shane got into a hockey fight today. When the guy hit him on the top of the head, he turned to murdalize him but instead, he blew a kiss to him and dazzled everyone with his smile. Ya gotta love it. We went to the Sports Gardens again while I left April with her friends at the arena until 9:30. They were starving when they got home. Erin is staying overnight, I am glad April and her are friends. Right after Jessie's work Stacy went to Mario's parents for their huge Italian style Thanksgiving Dinner. Brent will probably stay at Josh's tonight. They tried to find Josh's friends who were camping somewhere near Durham College. They planned an ambush, to paint ball shoot them, so it is good that they didn't find them. Annie at 10/13/2002 04:54:00 a.m. I took pictures at the schools Football game until my battery ran out. Many girls asked for me to take pictures of certain players, man I could make some money on that! A guy got hurt badly and they wouldn't even lift him on to a stretcher to the ambulance for over an hour and they had him hooked up to intravenous. April's teacher told her things she had no business saying. They were talking about the older OAC guys and the teacher said that Sean F wasn't good looking and that he was a dumb ass, and when they mentioned Jess C. she said "what do you want a body or someone with brains?" Later she even said that she shouldn't have said that. From everything I have ever heard about Sean he is very smart, maybe he didn't show it in her class but he might be like Brent. Jess C might find Math difficult but so do a lot of people. April's old childhood friend was there to watch her boyfriend. Chelsea put on the phoney friendship act again. April had told me that Chelsea said she didn't like her at all and then Carling comes to her school and Chelsea was hugging her like best buddies, she is so fake. Jessie's hockey tourney, they played well but didn't win. Stacy was working so I went with April and Chelsea, to keep them busy and then to the Sports Gardens. Hannah and Mario came in later and I was going to come back after I dropped off the girls but Brent was home and wanted to watch a movie with us. Jodi, Amy and another girl came over. Jodi has her licence now! When they found out that Stacy was going out with Jessie they took Brent out. He bailed on the movie! They went driving and then some place to play pool. I am nervous the first couple weeks when kids fist get their licence because a lot of them get in little accidents then. I am surprised that Stacy and Jessie went out tonight with friends because Stacy had asked in advance for the basement (that is the only way you can be assured of getting the basement with our place so busy with people). They haven't been together one on one for eons. I guess partying is more important to Jessie right now. It can't be that intense a relationship if they choose friends all the time so I guess it is more like they are best friends, than physical. If that is their choice then it is for the best. April had Tara and Chelsea stay overnight. Annie at 10/12/2002 04:52:00 a.m. Brent came home in the night, said he fell asleep at the Doobie brothers. James's back is sore from golfing yesterday. Poor baby, no sympathy here, if you have fun and you get sore, why should you receive any pity? If you were working and then were sore, well baby let me rub your sore body. Nadia went shopping with me today, she was off school. Brent says his HTML course is way too easy. He is trying to figure out what is wrong with his computer and it is frustrating him. He needs to put together Nadia's computer because she has work she was commissioned to do on hers and she can't complete it. Jessie is sick today he has a sore throat. I hope Stacy and him don't pass it back and forth. April had Chelsea and Tara over in the evening. She wasn't feeling well, same as I was earlier today. Annie at 10/11/2002 04:44:00 a.m. I have a sore spot again on my left breast so I am going to have to watch it. Maybe it is a bruise from horseplay, I don't know. Stacy had a meet at Trinity College in Port Hope, what a beautiful place. She got caught up in the pack 295 of them and couldn't run at her pace, never once got up to speed, just too many people there. Jessie came over after school and drove her to work. Nadia was out with Derrick and then came back here for the evening. April is trying to talk to other OAC guys on the Internet Sean F, so Stacy stepped in got on April's icq and told him to ignore April, and hopefully she won't try that again. About Jessie C., he must like Stacy again, April asked why they broke up and he said he regrets it, it was a stupid reason, that he shouldn't have broken off with her and it is all his fault. Nadia had an interview at with a Lacrosse manufacturer, she is designing a web page for him. James and I were both out so she had to try and find rides herself. Monica was at an out of town Volleyball tournament. They were 1st in their pool, 3rd overall. The principal went up to Monica and shook her hand. He was with a teacher who walked up to Monica and said, "Stacy?" Ya it could have been Stacy if she stayed the same after 7 years! We were home after 10. I talked to Brandy's parents about her smoking. They aren't going to talk about it to her, they figure what I said will be effective. I hope that is all it takes. James was at a golf tourney, his team came in first. Annie at 10/10/2002 04:39:00 a.m. Even though Monica had been sick in the morning she ran a cross country and came in 3rd. I was so proud of her, smooth and steady, so determined. And it was bitterly cold. Unfortunately I distracted her concentration near the end of the race, she noticed me and tried to talk while she was running. I knew better than to get in her line of vision but she forgot her puffer and needed it. She should have been saving her strength instead of attempting to talk. That is when the girl passed her for 2nd. Monica said she had nothing left anyway and I believe her. She did fantastic, what a great competitor she is. April asked some questions to Stacy about Jess C. and Stacy snapped at her to mind her own business, so I have to ask April about him tomorrow. I am sure April has developed a huge crush on him. Why not, he is popular, a jock, who pays attention to her (because of Stacy) and he is built pretty fine too! So says April! I don't think it is a good idea to have a crush on your sister's old boyfriend though! Annie at 10/09/2002 04:29:00 a.m. Email from Stella We're connected baby. How did Stacy do in the race? Good to see you guys. Love the dog. Well busy two days for me at work as I'm taking Wed, Thurs, Fri as vacation to hang out with my aunt and uncle who are visiting from Sydney, Australia. I remembered who Martin was. He was Nancy S brother who was married to Bob P's sister. Martin was her good looking brother (well let's face it, anything would be good looking compared to "Ecky" her spotty faced bro) I had a mad crush on Bob P. It was one of those passing in the hall crushes and then when I finally got to hear him speak he sounded like Mike Tyson. Lunch bag let down (plus I think he puked when we were over at Martin's apartment at Scarborough Golf Club Road). Take care and see you at the next track meet. Stella -----Original Message----- Hi Stella, Stacy came in 4th place! Not bad for being away from it for 2 years and for all the worrying she did about being last. She saved energy for the end of the race and passed a lot of people even at the finish line so it was quite exciting. I was going to take a movie of it but I got too caught up in the moment and forgot. I told you about finding some of my diary's. I have tried to type them all out because I had them on scrapes of paper and sometimes I didn't even date them. I am glad I kept them. It has helped me alot trying to figure out my own kids. I realized that my son is very much like me, the little skipper! Looking at everything I have from 1972, I started out very immature compared to how my kids are, but by the end of the year I guess I grew up alot when I left home. I copied out some of the more 'exciting' ones that you were in so if you have the time here goes! Email to Stella I was so new to Canada in the period your diary covers. We came to Canada in October of 1971. Didn't take me long to find out where the fun was especially coming from an all girl school. It was really great hanging out with you, Laurie and Cindy. When I think of the crazy things we did like go up north for free education week (you with your backpack full of homework) etc.... Thank heavens for the likes of Mrs G. and Mrs. W. to take care of us all while letting us "express" ourselves. I so agree with your policy of having the kids friends in your home. My mother never allowed anyone in and we were always looking for places to hang out which can get you into trouble. If you're friends with their friends the other kids have respect for you which passes on down to having respect for your kids. Well I'm getting too philosophical here. Back to work, Moi Email to Stella What I was reminding John of the other day is how he had said something about never really trying to date a girl out of his crowd, that he just hung out with whatever group of girls his friends were at that time. I never realized till I read my diaries that we basically did that too but I really never got to know the guys at all. The guys were all of a sudden there and then we moved on to another group of guys. Sandy and Keith maybe a month, Robin and Eddie were maybe two weeks, Pete and those guys maybe the same amount, this Scott and Al, they were gone in a flash too, I can't even picture any of there faces. I think that you might have had more stability at staying with a group of guys as friends than Laurie, Cindy and I did. When I mentioned Bob N. to you the other day you didn't seem to recognize his name and because I really didn't know most of these guys we hung out for these short periods maybe that wasn't his name, maybe someone said it as a joke, maybe it was the Bob P. you mentioned or maybe I thought this guy was the guy you liked when you didn't really know him at all. Who knows? We just seemed to flit from a group of guys for a couple weekends to another and I really never knew where they came from or why we didn't hang around more. I am glad my kids have known the guys or the girls they hang out with for long periods of time. Stacy hangs around and really knows three groups of guys for at least 2 years each, which I really like. When she has parties here, which she does a lot I basically know everyone well so I don't worry about them, partying out of control and I don't mind the party turning huge, I feel safe knowing them. Just as long as I am home. My youngest girls have had guy friends since they were little and they have really grown up as a group. I would hate it if my kids did what I did and really never knew the kids they hung out with. My emails aren't usually this long or this frequent. I am just fascinated by finding these diaries and how I always thought of myself one way and when I read my diary for that year I wasn't what I imagined at all. I thought I was studious in grad 12 but I really didn't buckle down to study and not skip until February so I guess I just scrapped by. Annie at 10/08/2002 04:21:00 a.m. Monica had a baseball game against the major tier one team. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the game when Monica was pitching so well. We had to leave after the 2nd inning, it was 2-0 for us. James and I spent the afternoon in Burlington for a business BBQ, exquisite food. There were people from all over Canada there, and they all seemed to know about me, the one with the five teenagers. Yeah, they think I'm nuts, maybe I am. Paul is very involved in his exotic fish in multiple tanks with beautiful corals in his basement. He also has an old fashioned barber chair surrounded by his fish tanks where he smokes his doobies. He is the only successful person I have ever met that has this life long habit. I have noticed that most people seem to grow out of it or they never grow period. Stacy worked 5 hours at the gym. She instructed one of her school teachers on some equipment. We are putting April into pitching clinic. It is $500. each for Monica and April but I know April can do it and if we can help her with her the confidence, that might make all the difference to her. Right now she is against her self, she hears one bad comment and it throws her right off. I hope it works. We told Nadia that it is up to her to find a pitching clinic, she has in the past but she doesn't seem too interested in it right now. I think this season disillusioned Nadia about Select ball. Brent is spending the day home for the 2nd day sleeping trying to change his internal clock back to normal hopefully. Monica at Cory's, he was grounded for staying too long while he walked Monica home last night. Annie at 10/07/2002 04:48:00 a.m. Stacy ran at pre LOSSA at Pineridge in Pickering. The XL's coaches remembered Stacy from 2 years ago and asked Stacy to join their club even before she ran. They approached me too and gave me the head coach's number. Stacy was afraid of how she would do because the last time she ran cross-country was at OFFSA two years ago. She hurt her knee there and needed lots of physio and quit the club to take time to heal. She has been doing the spinning classes so I guess it strengthened her knees. Coming up near the end of the race she was in the middle and there were comments about her. "She might not be able to run well but she looks really good, I wonder if you can get a scholarship on her looks?" HAHAHA- fuck off! She was the last one of her school but as she came back into view she looked strong and passed enough people to be the first for her school and get 4th place and the last medal! She even surprised herself. It was weird that they gave fourth place a medal, it is usually medals up to third place. She really enjoyed being back in cross country and is very happy at how she did. Monica went out this morning with Sam, they took her to different stores than she is used to so she really enjoys going out with them. Brent helped James with the garage door opener and he figured out what was wrong very quickly. The sensor kept getting activated by the cord for manually shutting, which was dangling down. Brent is trying to straighten out sleeping all day and staying up all night but I still think he slept most of the day. Stacy went out with Amy, she just got her license, driving for the first time so I am a little nervous. It's funny, I never felt that way with Stacy, she was so comfortable driving. Stacy said that she backed into a kid but the kid ran away and Amy doesn't believe that she did it. Nadia was supposed to have some friend's over but some cancelled, that happens a lot at this age when everyone gets paired up, priorities change I guess. Nadia and Derrick are downstairs drinking and all of a sudden Nadia had shooting pain from her tooth and her jaw and the side of her head. Now she has to stop drinking and wait so that she can take painkillers. Poor girl. Annie at 10/06/2002 04:55:00 a.m. Nadia's interview with NHL went well. She is the front runner, they are planning two trips for the person who gets it to Florida and to Nashville! Wow! Brent had a party tonight. I think it is bad timing, they don't want anyone to know about Richard but I guess they shouldn't have got drunk so soon after they found out about him. Think about it, imagine drunks whispering to each other so loud, spraying their spit all over each other as they shush their secret from the rest of the guys. Imagine drunks, buddies, arms wrapped around each other until the homophobia sets in and they recoil from each other and pretend it didn't happen. They don't know how to act right now. That is the only subject that was on their minds tonight and Nadia and Stacy both heard them talking about it. Keith is one angry boy, told me himself about it, I am glad he trusts me. Poor Keith, it is a huge load to put on him, his brother, twin and best friend. Right now in their drunken state they're rationalizing themselves over whether beating the hell out of Richard will bring him to his senses but it doesn't work that way. This is so hard to watch. But then Rich must have had a tough time going it himself all alone hiding this news. Morgan was there, all 6'5" of him, and gave me a big hug, too long a hug and many affectionate words making me realize that perhaps I should ask him how much had had to drink. I took his keys away from him. I took Adam's away too. Brandon Alexio was so proud of the fact that he brought his car home and came back without it because he knew he would be drinking. And did he! He got sick in the park. Stacy started her new work session with a raise. She works 5:30-8:30 Fridays and baby sits on Saturday mornings. I went with Stacy and Coral to Jessie's hockey game. Stacy and Coral went to sit at the other side and I was left alone because I lost Hannah and April. I got kind of upset with Stacy for leaving me. I though we were a click, like last year. But I feel like I am in a bitchy mood which doesn't happen to often, so I have to have something to bitch about. Stacy wasn't going to go out with Jessie after the game because she has to work tomorrow, but that meant that Coral would be alone with Jessie and Shane. Since they are trying to get those two together, Stacy decided to go out with them too. Also, I don't think Stacy and Jessie will get to see each other much this weekend. Nadia was out with Derrick. Her jaw is really bothering her. Every time Nadia goes to the dentist her jaw aches for days after, poor kid. The dentist gives her painkillers but that doesn't even help. April cut her hand deeply when she went to jump a fence with Erin on the way home from the football game. Annie at 10/05/2002 04:58:00 a.m. Brent barged into my dreams at 2am. What he had to share a secret that kept me awake for the rest of the night. He is the best at doing that; he can really throw me for a loop sometimes. He told me that one of his friends was gay. Richard. Brent had told his brother Keith that he had heard that Richard had been seen with a guy everyone calls Gay Chris. Keith hadn't heard anything about that, so he asked Rich and Rich laid it all out. Rich said he couldn't before because how do you tell your twin brother and best friend you are gay? Apparently he had already taken Steve and Sullivan into his confidence but found it hardest to tell Brent and Keith. Why? Are they the ones who tell all the gay jokes I have heard them laughing about? Rich said that he thought he was bisexual but then he figured he was only kidding himself. For his sake I hope that his father doesn't find out until he is out of his house because he is one person that I don't think could handle it. I am wondering what kind of life Rich is going to have now? He is a good person and I don't want to ever see anything bad happen to him. Brent said that of any of his friends, if he ever had to of guessed he would have guessed Richard because he never really talks about girls. Wow. I hope his little brother doesn't find out about it for a long time too because it is a lot to grasp for a younger teenage brother, especially if his peers find out. Brent wouldn't go to school today - just lied in bed string at the ceiling. Ya, he is shocked. The thoughts that I have right now for Rich is that I am sad that he will probably never have children, given his new lifestyle, a choice that I gather is full of promiscuous sex - at least that is how our generation perceives it. I find that scary, the thought of AIDS sickens me. He is so young, and how are his buddies going to handle this? I have heard them gay bashing each other and giving homo gifts to each other as jokes in the spring and now they find out that it wasn't very funny to Rich. I took Nadia to the dentist and she doesn't think that the filling is in proper. Nadia withdrew a savings bond, the one that Grammie had combined for the three oldest. Grammie told her that the money was mostly meant for Nadia but Nadia instructed the bank to split it evenly. I am so proud of her for doing that and she doesn't want the other kids to know until the confirmation comes in the mail. Monica is constantly playing clarinet at home. It is just like her to try her best and I don't mind but she plays it for long periods of time. Her enthusiasm isn't appreciated by the others though, I guess they forget when it was their turn to discover music. The kids keep sending her to different parts of the house so they can concentrate on what they are doing. Annie at 10/04/2002 04:25:00 a.m. James's mom came home from Toni's and stayed here for lunch. They are really extra busy with the new A&W opening. Monica's volleyball team lost but were still in the game. Holly says she not playing anymore. She then hurried to house league basketball and I took Monica straight to volleyball, already in progress. I drove Britt home and she was disappointed that Holly is not playing volleyball for the school. She doesn't think she is hurt like she says because she said, "If you could see the way she plays at recess you would know she is not hurt." Too bad that even kids can see what is happening. It poured rain tonight, a warm summer rain. Monica and April and the neighbourhood kids were all dancing in the downpour and the rush of mini river waters. You could hear April laughing in the rain from down at the Kegs's. They came home arm in arm, drenched and all smiles. Joe let me have the team pictures in advance so I could put them on my computer. The coach phoned to say that Monica made the tier one team. That was a gimme since is has told everybody that would listen that he has wanted her for 3 years. He tells people that if he had Monica with the team he has now, nothing will stop them. I guess we will see now. He is seriously looking at Shannon too. That will really hurt Joe's team if his two strongest players are gone. Annie at 10/03/2002 04:44:00 a.m. I am feeling rough today, the sharp pains I had yesterday turned into a period. I guess every now and then that can make me feel bad. No complaints though, I have always had it easy. We went to Monica's Cross Country Race, she came in 5th. Holly didn't run, either did her brother, although her mom and brother came to watch. I wonder if she is going to try to blame me for her son not running either? Monica warms up the younger kids since she is the oldest most experienced girl. James is working hard at installing a new garage door opener and finally a kick plate for the front door. The kids have been peeling off the paint into animal shapes so the kick plate hides it nicely! Nadia went to a Raptor's interview and while she was gone I bought her 3 tops, and hopefully she will keep them hung up neat for interview and her co-op. I had Stacy's key chain I bought for her birthday fixed too. Stacy is really complaining about not seeing Jessie like she should, she is trying to encourage him to make plans and let her know when he works but I don't think he understands how important it is to her. I think he likes the idea of having a girlfriend but in reality he doesn't know what to do with her. Annie at 10/02/2002 04:06:00 a.m. Stacy stayed home sick today and read a book all day. Jessie came to visit her right after school before he worked. Nadia and Derrick were downtown Toronto for their placement interviews with the NHL. Colleen phoned to whine about Monica and Holly and their relationship. She says that Monica's competitiveness is scaring Holly away from all sport. She thinks that all the cheering is done only for Monica and Holly feels rejected by her classmates. I told her that yes the crowd cheers for one or the other but not always Monica and very often Holly. Colleen has always liked the competitive nature in Monica and wanted it to rub off on Holly. They have always been compared to each other because they look alike and are good at the same things and are the popular kids. They have been friends from grade one. Holly is backing out of sport, she never had the drive anyway. I hope they can still be friends but they are not hanging out, hardly at all in the summer and not at school. I resent Colleens implications, I think that her own mom is driving Holly out of sport. So stop bitching to me and listen to your own kid. She loves music, she is creative and needs to perform. That is mostly what she does here and we love hearing her, she is talented. Brent didn't go to school today, he slept all day until about 7pm. His shoulder and chest are hurting him. We signed Monica up for volleyball. It shows a lot of character in Monica to pick the sport that she doesn't dominate in. This way she will be part of a team instead of the team as she would be in basketball. Annie at 10/01/2002 04:00:00 a.m.
