May 31/01 I had the manicure today as part of Mark and Carries gift from my birthday. I was nice but it took me only to get to my car before I actually wrecked one of the nails. I guess I just am not that girlie because it seems like such an unnecessary expense. I have always been lucky in that my nails grow long without any help but I am not good with nail polish. Maybe this will help me wear it. Nadia had a dentist appointment again. He teeth are looking better but I don’t know if she has been using the teeth whiteners much as she was supposed to. James was in a car accident today. He was turning left onto a little side street and he looked behind him and saw that there was a truck that wasn’t slowing down so he tried to gun it. The truck hit him anyway. It really threw him because he wasn’t himself for the baseball games at all. Real quiet. Stacy and Nadia played ball against each other tonight! I tried to sit in the middle, but James was so blue that I ended up pacing. Geoff is phoning quite a bit now- seems since I met his mother at Track. I did tell her that it didn’t work out between them so why is he phoning all the time now? Annie at 5/31/2001 05:48:00 p.m. The weather has been pretty crappy and cold lately eh? I was supposed to get pampered today and tomorrow waxing- bikini and half leg but I have another girl whose period I seem to follow so I had to cancel. I got a gift certificate for a manicure for tomorrow so I am looking forward to it- first time. Stacy had Jessie over today; they look so cute together. He rode his bike over so I am glad to see that this guy can make it over on his own steam. He is putting on an effort and its good to see that he will come over here. Their relationship seems more balanced so far (fingers crossed). When he went to leave Stacy and Jessie were outside with his bike and it took so long for them to say bye. We left in the car for an errand with them saying goodbye and when we came back they were still there. It all seems like a good sign. He is shy too, like Stacy and he has a great smile. I hope he is genuine. Jake came to Stacy’s baseball game tonight but he was with a guy who later turned out to be that Darren-creep. I couldn’t believe that they were together. I think Stacy was bothered that Darren and Jake were together too because she avoided going near them during the game-and she might have even been mad at Jake about them being together because she didn’t say much to Jake after the game. I guess it was just us that dislikes him so much but I really thought that Jake wouldn’t like him too. I really like Jake, he is so friendly and looks sincere. I told him about that shorty person who is bugging me on the Internet and it made me think that maybe I should talk to Stacy about it-maybe, I don’t know because he seemed to know about this person and it sounded like shorty is bothering other people, at least that is what I think he said. Annie at 5/30/2001 04:40:00 p.m. Nadia was invited to go to meet with head referee she interviewed last year. He stoped by the school to guest speak. He wanted a chance to meet her because he liked the interview Nadia did on him from her last year school magazine project. Holly just tore up the track at Oshawa fields today! It was amazing. She came 1st in 200 and 400 by a wide margin. Monica raced the 1500, came in 9th and some long jump. April told me that Amber really hurt Carol today at school. She beat her up and pulled a chunk of hair out of her head. April was a witness but wanted no part of it because she is afraid of Amber as is everyone with good reason. Amber brags about her gang friends and some kids have seen them so everyone believes her. She is moving soon- can’t wait. In it I have tried to tell her how important it is to talk about feelings as much as you can, trying new things socially. If she has strong feelings for Jessie make sure that he knows it, by your words and your actions. If they are true feelings they will grow every day and you will be amazed at how strong you can feel about it. It is mostly about communication. I just am worried that if they are both quiet or shy that they won’t figure out things to say and do and they might start doing STUFF before they should. You know? It is nothing different than the things I have been saying this last year but when she has a boyfriend, I need to talk about it more. Annie at 5/29/2001 02:42:00 p.m. Monica ’s team played The Gruesome Twosome’s team and it is true, they are not happy that they didn’t get Monica. We explained that Al lost a player and their player, while not there right now, will be available later on. Of all the teams we would have wanted to be on theirs or Al’s but left to us, Al, because of their rapport they developed last year. Al thinks the world of Monicaand he says he wants to adopt her and he helps out with driving both of them. Annie at 5/28/2001 04:22:00 p.m. Nadia has been stowed away in her room study or doing an ISU but she is being a hermit. We had a bad afternoon thunderstorm that knocked our computer out and messed up our ICQ messenger service. We have to remember to turn off our computers when there is a Thunderstorm in the area. Annie at 5/27/2001 12:19:00 p.m. I didn’t have to drive Derrick home again tonight, they are understanding after that night last month that they can take cabs and they can find there own way home. I don’t mind driving him at all except it was too late for me last night. Nadia had to go the baseball skills competition today. Nadia and her friends have been making big plans for prom and James is getting worried about it. My only concern was with the Limo, but that is all settled now- we offered to drive them and they finally accepted. Nadia, the planner, was going to book the Limo in her name, but I was afraid that people were going to back out and leave her with a big bill. I wanted her to get everyone’s money up front and then order it. She was still going to do it until the first couple backed out, Crystal and James, and she realized that she could get stuck in debt and dropped that idea. What worries James is them staying downtown in a Motel. I don’t especially like it but they are good kids that have never done anything wrong, and I don’t see it starting now. Besides I don’t even think Derrick would be allowed to stay out downtown, so I told James to let it play out because I don’t think the outcome will be too bad. Don’t sweat the small stuff. They all know that they can stay here. Nadia went over to Derrick’s, she says they hang out in his basement there. Annie at 5/26/2001 12:16:00 p.m. Today was the opening of the movie Pearl Harbor. James and I went as soon as it was opened-4:00. There were people of all ages there and it was really good. I didn’t realize, Nadia told me, that she went Prom dress hunting with an old freind. After all these years of being childhood friends, and then not hanging around since grade nine, to get together to look for Prom dresses is so nice but must have been weird for both of them. Nadia’s dress is different from what I thought she would get. It is a light blue, I just figured that it would be a dark colour but it is really pretty. I was very surprised that Derrick came over so late tonight. It seems to me his parents are very strict but it is late here and he is still at our house! Annie at 5/25/2001 05:54:00 p.m. Monica is getting slack for winning almost everything at the Track and Field at school. The girls are saying she cheated. I heard one of the teachers give it to some of the girls who were saying that. He said, “If you paid attention like Monica does and actually tried what I instructed you to do, like she does, you might be able to win too.” I told Monica that if the girls are giving her a hard time, then play with the boys, because they think that she is cool because she plays sports as well as the best of them. She seemed a lot happier after school and is playing with the guys. Colleen made a comment that I don’t understand. She said that she doesn’t see how Monica and Holly can be friends that they are bigger than her because she knows she couldn’t be. Because they are both good in sports? I really hope she doesn’t feel that way. She has always encouraged Monica to run because that makes Holly want to. Nadia got accepted into Carleton today with a partial scholarship but she didn’t seem to enthusiastic about it. She seems confused as to what she wants now. Nadia went out with her hommies, Brie and Nichol and others for ice cream tonight. Annie at 5/24/2001 04:12:00 p.m. More track & field for Monica 's school to see who will go to the finals. Monica got first place in Javelin, shot put, long jump & triple jump and 2nd in the 100, 200, 400 & 800. Tomorrow she tries out for high jump & 1500! Derrick came over here right after school today. ANNIE TO GRANDMA Stacy got a beautiful home run last night but it was so cold I left early GRANDMA OK WILL NOT KEEP YOU -- AND GOOD FOR STACY-THAT IS SO NICE SHE WANTS TO COME AND VISIT GRANDPA Annie at 5/23/2001 05:55:00 p.m. I was a hurdle meet all day for Monica . She did so good. They made a mistake in the first heat and placed her 5th instead of 2nd. I was so proud of her that she was a good sport. We mentioned that we thought they made a mistake and when they saw her run the heat for long distance hurdle and come in first by a long shot they said that they were sure that they had made a mistake and gave her 2nd for short distance hurdles. So now she can go to the finals in June! And it never rained. I was prepared to sit in rain all day so I was so glad it turned out nice. Monica also placed 5th in all the district for long distance hurdles so that means the heat that she placed first in was a slow heat. Talk about coincidences, this is pretty good. I am at an elementary school hurdle meet and I was walking and talking to this woman. She was talking about her son in grade 8 and I was talking about Monica . She asked what school and then I asked the name of her son’s school. I mentioned that my older daughter tried to go out with a guy from there but it was so far it didn’t work out. I said it was a little town ust on the outskirt. She gave me a weird look and asked me the boy’s name. Geoff is her oldest son! When I got home I said to Stacy “I think that I just finished things with Geoff for you!” After I told her she said “Thanks mom” I knew she wasn’t all that interested in him. But it gave her space when guys asked her out. I think she needed that time to clear her head from everything that has happened since Sept. It seems to me that she avoided him when she came back from Florida at track. Either she was away “injured” or he was. She is a lot like her mother! Stacy and Jessie are “going out now”. I hope they always find a way to have fun and not always do the same old, same old. If they get in a rut I won’t be happy, because they are so young, I don’t want them to be bored and do “other stuff” too fast. Annie at 5/22/2001 05:07:00 p.m. The kids are off for a pa day today for Victoria Day. Nadia and Derrick were up to the wee hours last night but I didn’t have to drive him home. Nadia is so happy at school. Derrick is including her with the people at school and would rather be with her than the other kids. It is him all of a sudden that is seeking her out. It must be a great feeling for Nadia! I love that she is so happy! She deserves it, because Nadia is such a good person. There are some rumblings about how Monica got on Big Al’s team. Some of the other coaches are unhappy about it. It seems she is quite the commodity now. Annie at 5/21/2001 12:05:00 p.m. Sarah blew up at Stacy about Jessie the other day so now it is just a matter of it being the right timing for them to “go out”. She talked to Jake about it, which was pretty decent of her since I am sure he still cares for her. She really likes Jessie. I don’t think she wants to do it close to the date her and Jessie started going out which was a year today April’s party turned out to be really good. There were a lot of kids there and they had lots of fun. It is great to see mixed parties work so well. The guy’s parents started to come around 11.30 and Harry came with a friend and had some drinks with us. His wife phoned for him to come home because they had company but they didn’t want to leave. We didn’t have any fireworks so the kids went over behind the church and watched them. Brent and Adam came home with the trailer and Adam tried a couple times to fit it in the backyard but had no luck. He is a new driver so I can understand how it would be so awkward. Finally he was so frustrated that he drove off but came backing a while with his dad and he managed it. The mechanizism that lifts it got stuck so it didn’t work the way it was supposed too. I’m afraid it is getting old! Kyle got real drunk at the campsite and they called him Pukihontis Nadia had Derrick over tonight. Annie at 5/20/2001 05:03:00 p.m. Janet is suppose to come back from China today with her newly adopted little girl. James got new glasses today two pairs- almost $600.00! April’s party was a huge success. They all had a blast. There were kids that had moved from the area that came and a couple kids we didn’t know. One of the kids lied to her mom about where she was and then lied to the parent of the girl she was staying with so there was a lot of phone calls and they picked her up and then let her come back and then picked her up again??? Who knows. But April was happy and I don’t have a problem with her having another party. Most of the April’s girlfriends slept over. Annie at 5/19/2001 05:01:00 p.m. It has been a weird week with baseball with Monica playing for 2 divisions. As for what we are doing this weekend baseball track & field and April is having a party. A parent came up to me today & told me she was nervous about her son coming home from the party at 2am. I couldn't believe my ears. Apparently April told everyone that the boys -13yr olds could stay till 2am!!!! Yeah right. Stacy went down to the waterfront tonight with Jessie. Apparently these days you are only seeing each other until he officially asks her out. Nice place to begin a romance. On the way home from the waterfront Stacy asked me for Melissa’s booze. They can only drink it at my house and then after that I won’t be responsible anymore. Brent asked if he could bring up the trailer and James and I had to think about it. We trust them with it, because Brent seems to know everything there is to know about the trailer but the only thing we are worried about is them hauling it. The trailer is so huge and it sways behind the van sometimes. Brent said that one of Adam’s parents would be driving it He went up with Adam, Kyle, Derrick. Kyle brought up a whole big bag of Chicken McNuggets up. Annie at 5/18/2001 05:29:00 p.m. Went to my regular gas station and the guy who told me last month that he was a cop, came up to me when I was waiting. I had that song Lady Marmalade on and he sauntered over put his arm in my window and said “You want me to sing that song to you don’t you?” (The song says in French “do you want to go to bed with me?”) I looked down at his hand because they were in my space and he saw me looking at them and he said, “I see you are into Tattoos.” I’m like “What?” but then I started to laugh because it was just sooo weird. He then proceeded to tell me that he is a tattoo artist and he has done some that cost $5000. And asked me if he could design one for me. He must be pretty busy being a cop, dog trainer, gas station attendant, and tattoo artist!!!!!!! Wow-what a man, eh! When things started to get uncomfortable again, I was saved by Jessie a student from the elementary school- he went back to business when she started to talk to me. Monica first Novice game was against her sister April. Monica struck her out and then walked April. April was the tying run so it was good for us since they are on opposing teams! Should be interesting! There won’t be much overlapping with their schedules, when one plays on Monday’s the other plays on Thursdays so it is so good for us. We didn’t want them to be on the same team because people always try and compare April and Monica so this will work out good. Annie at 5/17/2001 03:58:00 p.m. I got back the films that were from the disposable camera’s for Stacy’s party and they didn’t turn out. I purposely didn’t bring in one camera that they used because it didn’t have a flash and they had used it downstairs- so it would be ruined. I don’t want to get any of it done even though they also had her Florida pictures too. I asked her and she didn’t get anyone to take pictures of her in Florida, so I don't really care about them. The ones with the flash didn’t turn out because they forgot to turn on the flash- duhhh. I was disappointed about it because Adam was in some pretty questionable positions for pictures so they would have been funny. The convener phoned us and said that there were 2 teams that needed Monica , one was Al’s and the other Dave and Bernie’s team. We said that she had played for both of them so either was all right. They asked us to choose so we said Al. He really helped develop her last year and while we appreciate The Gruesome Twosome because she had them for 2 years, if they really wanted us to pick we would pick Al’s team. Stacy’s first game of the season, she didn’t want anyone of her friends to see her first game of the year (normal). Her games are always on Wednesday at Country Lanes. That will be easy to remember. Annie at 5/16/2001 05:56:00 p.m. email from Gramma GRANDPA IS NOW HOME GOT OUT OF JAIL-- I MEAN HOSPITAL-- AT 330 AND IS RESTING ON CHESTERFIELD AND WATCHING TV-- SO I DONT HAVE TO RUN UP TO HOSP. ALL THE TIME- HOPE HE IS BACK TO NORMAL WE WILL SEE -- THEY SAID HIS WHITE COUNT IS UP AGAIN AND THAT IS WHAT COUNTS FOR A LOT BYE FOR NOW HAVE TO GET SUPPER LOVE MOM Monica played 1 game in the squirt division. She is a pitcher, an awesome one and no one on her team could catch her pitches, only one was brave enough to try (Holly) and she got hit so many times, so did the umpire- and the were all strikes. Colleen couldn’t stomach it anymore, Holly was going to get hurt and said no more. They pulled Monica, the ump said it was the first time he has every seen a pitcher pulled because she was too good! They had to move her up a division. The convener was there and said that it was what they had to do, she is too strong for Squirt Now my little 11 year old is playing with 13 & 14yr olds. Unfortunately we overheard Colleen talking about Holly not making the select team and the fact that Monicadid because her father is the coach. The people she was talking to, watched Monicaand then decided that she was very good even if her father was the coach. I was hoping that she would understand and that there would be no bad feelings. She herself said that Holly didn’t seam to be trying sometimes. Big Al phoned us about Novice Select for April and we mentioned what was going on about Monica and he said that he was trying to get another player because one had already quit. He really wants Monica. Email to Stace About Jessie, now that he is interested in you, you should try to get to know him, really get to know him, talk to him on the phone, invite him over as much as you want- you know you can always have the basement anytime. And the house will be clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before you express affection for him tell him you like him or you have strong feelings for him or he really makes you feel different or special but only say them if you mean it. The L word should not enter the picture for a long time because you know it can't be true yet. You don’t want it to sound phony like when all those guys said it to you. You might find out that you don't have anything in common so to waiting would be good. If he is the guy, getting to know him first would make your relationship even stronger. Also what your friends thinks counts. Another reason to have Jake as a friend. While you aware trying to determine if Jessie is the guy you want to date you can always get to feel comfortable with a guy friend. It is important also that your friends don’t think that you are zeroing in on Sarah’s ex. Girls can turn on you so fast and it takes girls a long time to be friends again. Please think about this. Annie at 5/15/2001 04:53:00 p.m. We got a letter from Grammie today. She is in Nova Scotia. She told us that she might go but didn’t tell us when, you know the usual, so I guess it will be weird when she gets home and hears all the phone messages I sent her! Marita and Dave were telling me that Josh and Brent got an eyeful at work the other day. In the middle of the night while Brent was helping Dave delivering bread, and car came up beside their truck on the 401 and when they looked down the girls flashed them. They did a spread eagle. Dave said that there faces were plastered to the window. When I asked Brent about it he didn’t go into as much description but it brought a smile to his face! Monica was a call up for the first Novice game of the year. She played for The Gruesome Twosome and they were happy to have her. She looks like she belongs there. Annie at 5/14/2001 04:48:00 p.m. Stacy told me that Jessie got in some kind of trouble with her about another girl named Bel. He said some things he shouldn’t have, from what I understand to make the girl feel better about herself but it got him in hot water with Stacy. I am surprised that Stacy worked through it (I guess she learned some things when her and Jake were fighting-trying to remain friends). Sometimes arguing helps to know what the boundaries are and hopefully their relationship will get to a stage where they can really share there feelings. James and I argued our first meeting! It looks like he is really fighting for her because she said she wasn’t going to go out with him because she didn’t want to hurt Sarah. I reminded her that I warned her about Sarah a couple times in the past. Once when Sarah said she didn’t like Stacy in grade nine because a guy named James was suppose to like Stacy and Sarah liked James. Then I noticed that the only time Sarah would go out with Stacy by herself was when Stacy was going to see Jessie in the fall and the other time is when Sarah spiked her drink the night of Semi. In spite of Sarah and Mel, I think he is wearing her down. We had alot of baseball practices on mothers' day but in-between we went to Don Cherry's for lunch with some of the kids. When I got home there were beautiful flowers on the table and a card. They were from Brent. When he got home I thanked him, told him how appropriate the card was. Brent asked what else I got. When I said nothing else he smiled and said. The card is a Hallmark. It was funny, I guess what you would call a Hallmark moment. Annie at 5/13/2001 05:16:00 p.m. I think there is a full out war about Prom, Carlie, and Nadia and Carlie is really ripping into Derrick. She thought that he was a rug that she could walk over but Derrick is standing up to her. The yearbooks just came out. It is just too bad that the yearbook has to be a memory of how he had once felt about her. His bio says-----. I took Stacy over to Jessie’s house (apartment actually) There were kids waiting outside with him . Bloxy was outside of Jessie Black apartment and he thinks I don’t like him because of Stacy. That is not true, I am very grateful to him, because I had warned Stace that there was guys out there that would tell stories about how far they got with her and he didn’t let me down. Stacy was so indignant about the fact that he told people that she let him ‘feel her up”. She didn’t, the only time they were remotely alone together was on our front lawn and he kissed her, that is it- it just didn’t happen and if he really knew Stacy you would know there is no way. After that she didn’t speak to him and even bad mouthed him to other girls that were interested in him.—Payback time. Its weird when ever I am in the position where I am taking Stacy to see a guy, I feel like I am doing something wrong. Like I am taking a lamb into a lion’s den. I hope he is a good guy, with the exception of Darren I think she has good judgement in guys- like trust worthy guys. I still think that Darren was a reflex, when she didn’t know who was her friend and who was spreading rumours about her she just wanted a friend who she didn’t think was talking about her. At that point she felt isolated from everyone- didn’t know who to trust. He had Stacy convinced that Jake and his friends were the ones spreading rumours. Turns out he was the one doing all the talking, when nothing was going on- trying to make himself look big. I am glad she never was anywhere with him. She does seem to prefer guys that are close in height to her and he does have similar looks to Jessie C. Please, please be a good guy. I don’t want him to be a rocket scientist or some athletic god type for her- just an average guy who knows or can learn how to treat my daughter- and in turn I want her to know how to treat a guy decent. I want them to learn how to have a good relationship. Nadia went Prom dress hunting. She found one she likes that is unlike anything she thought that she would wear. I kid almost hit me in the parking lot at the College, he wasn’t even watching the road and almost T-boned me. Brent has been rewiring the store for Adam’s dad. His dad says that he is a real good worker. This rewiring stuff is right up Brent’s and Adam alley but I hope they are very careful. I guess he knows what he is doing. They have always been interested in electricity. Nadia went out with Nichol and Katie tonight to see A Knight's Tale. She absolutely loved it and wants me to see it. Annie at 5/11/2001 05:00:00 p.m. I have been up since 4am. I had a nightmare about Monica and I couldn't stop thinking about her. It was so vivid and stuck in my mind that I had to get her out of bed. I haven’t carried her in a long time and her legs dangled through mine as I struggled to put her in my bed! After all these years of one of my kids needing my comfort from the boogy man it is my turn to steal comfort from one of my kids! It worked too I fell asleep safe and sound. While I was there one of the guys that got an attendance award was called Jessie B. or something similar. Since it was Oshawa that I heard that rumour that I thought was about Jessie Black, I could have thought bad about the wrong guy. I am glad I never mentioned it to Stacy and I didn’t judge him on it. Just goes to show you what rumours can make you think. Besides I never said that she couldn’t go out with him- I said she had to wait! And he didn’t want to wait. It looks like they are connecting now though. She is on icq with him a lot real late lots of nights! I hope they get it right this time. You can tell that she has liked him for quite a while. It really ticked her off when he went out with Gemma and Sarah. Went to Honey Garlic’s in Ajax, the place where Derrick likes and took Gramma. She enjoyed it. Apparently when Derrick told this to Carlie she went ballistic on him and his idea of her changed completely. He held her in such high esteem before that. The principal of the new school was there told me that A.J. got expelled from school but she wouldn’t say why. She said that it would be a good idea of he was kept away from April because he is bad news. I told her that April had made the decision on her own not to hang out with him. She gossiped about him up onto a certain spot and then just stopped. Good way to leave a conversation hanging. I am glad he is away from April. (I found out later that he came to school with some kind of weapon). Grandpa appearance has changed dramatically lately. Now he really does look sick. He is losing his hair. When I first met him he had a receding hairline but it didn’t move for over the 20 years I knew him. He used to use Grecian formula and it turned it a little darker but apparently he had blond hair when he was young so it just wasn’t him. Then he let it go natural. It was a nice silver. It’s all gone now, reduced to fuzzy patches. Because it is not a natural baldness his scalp is too white. Sue trimmed what is left to make it look more presentable. He is so tired but he never complains. They are keeping him in for a while. Nadia finally got the courage to say that it wasn’t right, she is going out with Derrick now and she should be with him to the Prom. She tried not to get upset in front of Derrick but when he asked her what was wrong she finally cried but I think he listened to how she felt. Annie at 5/09/2001 05:47:00 p.m. Brent and his friend Adam just got in an accident and unfortunately Adam is getting shafted. The other guy, older, of course sped around a corner and hit them when they were leaving a stop sign. The guy didn't even have his license with him, but they let him go get it. When the guy left he almost got in another accident but the cop had her head turned and didn't see it. Teenagers get the blame sometimes even when it is not there fault. Adam’s pretty red car looks bad, crumpled like someone tried to put a model car together without the instructions. Adam was very upset about it when we went back to the scene to take pictures and he told me that he would never intentionally hurt Brent. Adam said that Brent was the best friend he ever had. Chess tournament I am pretty sick of some of the gossip I hear from Mrs. Busy Bee. I wanted to deck her real bad today. We were talking about car accidents and she started to gossip about this girl named Penny who had an accident in the fall. She can’t even get any of the facts straight so I kept interrupting her. And I was really bothering her hehe. It showed the others that she exaggerates everything. But when she said that Penny’s mother had the nerve to say that she hoped her daughters face scars heal and don’t leave a scar, that did it. She thought that the girl should have to suffer for what she did. Marita pushed in between us. I can’t stand that kind of talk. Of course she didn’t want her daughter’s face scarred. No one wants that girl to suffer for a mistake. God that bugs me. Stacy says that Penny is so nice. I hope she has no scars and puts the accident right out of her mind .I wish people would remember what it was like to be a teenager and feel for them. Derrick has told Nadia about the Prom problem with Carlie this but not what he is going to do. This is hard to watch. It is his word that he is concerned with, he wants to go with Nadia but he has given his word to Carlie apparently even before him and Carlie ever even went out. She was sliding into home and they threw the ball to the catcher but it hit Jenny right between the eyes. The ball print is on her face plus both eyes swelled right up and she is black, blue and red! We went to watch her play for the big bad mean team!!! The head of the Rep organization was there and mentioned that Monica should be in rep- she appreciates our reasons but we will be with them one day and she was also glad to hear that James is coaching! Brent has been spending a lot of time with Adam at a campsite. His dad bought the store and is fixing it up (he has taken a leave of absence from his regular job.) There are a couple kids from her high school trying out, one that people call one of the Barbie dolls- Kate. (She was suppose to be in those rumours about Stacy and Darren along with Sean last January) Stacy was surprised that she was so nice. See, people label you and see you only in one way. The first thing Stacy said that she was surprise that this Barbie doll actually can get dirty. I replied that I wondered what people that don’t know you say about you at school. A convenyor came up to me and asked my opinion of some of the girls that he didn’t know so I rated some of the players. He moved Stacy to Joe’s team because he thought that putting the two winning pictures was unfair. This puts her on a team where Stacy requested that she not be on a certain girls team-she is a pest- but oh well what can you do? Later on we went and watch my neice Sarah play rep. The head of the rep league said that we will be with them soon because of Monica ’s skills and that she was happy to ear James was a very good coach. Monica was on her way to a birthday party and couldn’t find the ‘perfect’ bag to put her present in so she stomped and hollered like that was going to fix everything and then slammed the door. I am finally doing some of my garden clean up- normally all done & I have so much hostas to split, I guess I have to do it today cos they grew so much yesterday! Even though Derrickand John went to the same elementary school Nadia said that it was uncomfortable with them as couples. Took Brent this week to the Dr. for his shoulder. It is driving him crazy. Seems the Dr. thinks he slept on it wrong when he was drunk (He just gave me “the Look”, I didn’t even have to say “I told you so”) and since he had a previous injury there (separated shoulder) it is back to where it was. He has to quit football. We get most of our money back minus $75. April was having a sleep over tonight and she is with some of the girls that I consider “Toughies” I wanted to show them a good time and Stacy told me that her friends and her wanted to go to a hockey game late at night with a bunch of guys she knows (Jake, Jessie B…) so I thought is would be a good idea if I brought April and her friends along. When we got there, no one was there, they weren’t allowed to play for some reason. I took them to McDonalds and tried to use coupons to get ice cream cones through the drive in but they told me I had to come in to use them. We went to the door and they were locked up so I walked up to the drive through (Which they didn’t like but they finally served me.) While I was there other cars were trying to use the drive through so I would grab their order and deliver it to them. Sarah seemed to enjoy it, Amy wanted no part in it. At one time I had all the girls except Amy pretending that they we in an imaginary car and we all ran up to the drive in window. It was fun. Letter to Stacy I might be way out of line here and very wrong, but 2 things happened that made me think what I am thinking I mentioned to dad the day after your party that I saw you and a guy in our kitchen and he was looking at you as if he adored you. It was Jessie. Sorry but sometimes a look can give people away, but like I said I could be wrong. He broke up with Sarah after you told me that they looked like they were going out pretty good. Remember me asking you? Anyway, I know that I showed you a list of dating rules and on it, it says, don’t date your girlfriend’s old boyfriend unless a considerable length of time has past. Unfortunately sometimes it is more complicated than that and this might be one of those times. Remember when you first started to want to see Jessie and I said that it wasn’t a good idea because you had only talked to him on icq. When you have gone out with someone, guys are curious as to what you did with your old boyfriend and they want to do it too? I figured if he was really interested in you he could wait awhile? He didn’t, he even told you that he couldn’t wait so you even wondered about him. That was his immaturity showing, maybe he has grown up since then, that is something you have to deal with. In the meantime, last fall I also mentioned that your friend Sarah looked to me like she liked him too, because that was the only time she really went out with you, girlfriend to girlfriend, and at the time I told you to watch it? Anyway, it looks to me that your lives seem to be intertwined. You have also told me that he likes any girl that he thinks likes him so in that case maybe I am off base. I think he likes the girls that are close to you. Anyway here goes, if you do like him and want to go out with him, you must feel totally alone because you won’t have anyone to talk to for fear of someone breaking your confidence. Of that you are right. You can’t tell anyone your feelings right now. Your feelings about Geoff might be confusing you too. You have to get that cleared up. It is really hard to go out with someone out of town, I know- I did it but I did it so other guys would give me space and not always ask me out. Don’t worry about it, it is just an experience. I think now that you have gotten to know Jessiea little better. There is no harm going out with him if that is what you what to do, but you have to be careful. Of course I know that you know that timing is everything. We just talked about it about Logan and Amanda Kidd. And what she did. Please let me give you some advice. You have to socialize a lot with a lot of different people. Have your friends over (not to drink!) but be sure to include guys, not just one but a couple, maybe more. Use the offer of playing pool. Make sure you ask Sarah sometimes too. The more you socialize with other guys and him, the better you will get to know him. You have to hang around more than Jessie, try to get a lot of his friends around. Take Jake up on his friendship, suggest hitting off golf balls etc., try to get him to include you with his friends like Penny because you have gone out with her too. If he his doing something or going somewhere ask if you can join them. Go out with his friends and yours together, like Melissa. Above all tell him how good it is to have him as a friend. If you need to talk to someone about it, I am here. You have to realize that I have asked you a lot of questions about this since Friday and sometimes things happen, not the way you want it to but it just does. They had a boom box there and my foot was tapping to the music, which horrified April. She demanded that I stop, so then I started to dance and she was so embarrassed about me. Too bad eh? Derrick’s old girlfriend Carlie is trying to make a deal she had with Derrick good by insisting that he go to the prom with her instead of Nadia. I don’t really think that Nadia has talked to Derrick about this, just that she heard about it from people. Sounds like this Carlie person is throwing her weight around at the expense of Nadia. Today was the deadline to choose the high school courses for next year. Uncharacteristically Stacy waited until we were leaving for school and then kind of eni meanie minie moed on the banister step with Amy, what she was going to take! Issue with the Tissue The night of the party I noticed a pyramid of toilet paper arranged in the bathroom. I was too busy with the party to do anything about it and the next morning some of the toilet paper was used outside to wrap parked cars. I never ask who stacks the toilet paper. Every time you visit my bathroom there is a new twist to the stacking. It is almost art. I have no issue with the tissue! Who am I to stifle someone's creativity? Over the years strange things have been done with toilet paper in my house. I have found it pulverized into pieces and made into paper. I have kids mummified with it and made finger casts. Whole rolls have been shoved down the toilet. They have wrapped it around their feet to slide on our floors until they realized that sanitary napkins could stick to the bottom of your feet and are easier to glide.
